Historic Gulfstream Hotel sold

Comment Up
According to the article, the buyer, Hudson holdings, is looking to flip the property, which it calls a “history landmark redevelopment hotel project.”  In 1983, the Gulfstream was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Article also mentions the available 1.2 acres adjacent to the Historic Hotel "offering includes additional land for future development. The website notes that the property is three-quarters of an acre, and a Phase II adjacent parcel for future development is 1.24 acres, suitable for “150 units Hotel Style Living Apartments.”

I think they should keep it as it is or make it into green space or a park. How awful that they would want to develop the property right next to the hotel.

What say you Dee?

Do not let these greedy developers change anything.

That 1.2 acres must never be changed from the green space it has always been.

We must be vigilant that they do not take our parking on Golfview either.

We have an investor looking to buy up a large portion of commercial properties in our city. What happens if the economy tanks again (some people believe there is a false positive going on in the RE market)and mortgage defaults begin? Will LW be in real jeopardy? It's already bad enough. Just a thought.

If he was able to buy it right, he will not be hurt. There HAS to be value in something of this stature and historical significance.

But he will definitely need to be able to "enhance" the old building with a development on the West side bringing in modern amenities.

Let's just hope he makes friends across the street.

Anon at 4:28 get a life, you personally can't tell someone what they can or cannot do with their property. Beside said lot is in the Hotel District so as long as they add 50 hotel rooms the can build to six stories. What do you think it will remain a vacant lot. The Historical Building that the previous owners tried to give away is beyond saving, according to the Historic Board and will most likly be torn down, and some thing else will go there, or just more hotel building. Get ready the Skyline of Lake Worth will soon be a changing.

There's still a cloud, anonymous

Lynn, the cloud you are referring to could not possibly be the law suit that Ms Decker withdrew from.

You absolutely CAN yell them what they can or can not do on their property through the LDR's, etc. I would tell him don't try and build to 65 feet, anony at 5:33

@8:01--Check with G. Torcivia on that one. See what he tells you...maybe you will get the facts?

"we must be vigilant they don't take our parking on Golfview either".
Who's parking? parking on the PUBLIC street? You consider that YOUR parking? Hope they take YOUR space first.
The empty lot next door is green space? Lynn you need to send your roving photographer over there to take photos of the empty brown weedy lot. maybe you can make another hot dog park there.

"Our" parking. Well I am sure you know perfectly well anonymous that they are talking about public parking. That makes it "ours." Why so combative?

Her roving photographer is Mike Hill. I see him every week taking pictures and asking questions. Guess he thinks he works for ch. 12 news again...
