This is not a Christian nation. Are the majority of people living within it Christian? Yes. But our nation was founded as a secular nation, not a Christian one.

Actions speak louder than words. Show me one place in the constitution that mentions God or Christanity. I'll be waiting....
President Obama doesn’t subscribe to the Declaration’s rather central claim that our rights come from our ‘Creator’ (also referred to in the Declaration as ‘Nature’s God’ and ‘the Supreme Judge of the World’).” You are correct on the Obama worshipepr assertion.
1) The declaration mentions a creator, but not a Christian one.
2) The declaration has no legal bearing today, unlike the constitution.
3) The founder who put those words in the declaration was Benjamin Franklin, who was at most a deist and very well could've been an atheist.
Atheists, progressive liberals and many non-Christians are upset over the recent Supreme Court ruling that allows local governments to begin their meetings with Christian prayers. Why? Because they believe “freedom of religion” means “equality of religion”? It does not!
The Muslim religion is vastly inferior to Christianity due to its poor treatment — sometimes murder — of homosexuals, females and non-Muslims. Even so, if we put a cross on public property, they still believe we are obligated to put the Muslim crescent moon and star next to it. Or if we open a meeting with a Christian prayer, they believe we must allow a Muslim prayer. Thanks to this Supreme Court ruling, we do not!
But here’s the problem. Over the past 50 years, progressive liberals and judges have forced this kind of “equality of religion” thinking on America by legally forcing their minority desires on us all. Nonsense!
America was founded on Christian principles and nearly 80 percent of us still believe in the existence of God. We are not afraid of other religions. We allow them to peaceably practice their religion of choice. Therefore, because the majority of us still share Christian beliefs, we have the right to express our majority faith in the public arena. If we do not, we will allow evil to continue flourishing in America.

Equality of religion is not of importance to 'liberals' and 'atheists.' What is, however, is maintaining the 1st amendment's separation of church/state.
Practice your religion in the public square, that's fine, nobody is attempting to strip you of that right. But do not have governmental meetings or agencies promote any faith, period - as the first amendment states. And do not dare to bring your junk creationist science into public classrooms. Send your children to private schools if you want them to learn about 'creation.'

Nope, I didn't read it in a history book.You missed the point. On purpose , I'm guessing. America is a Christian nation. Lying about it not being a Christian Nation often enough might confuse some people(look in a mirror ), but the fact remains, this nation was founded on Christian principles. Being a Christian nation has nothing to do with the ability of all religions to practice in this country.America's founders certainly believed in God, and they credited GOD, and not themselves, for their victory over England and with the formation of our country.And by the way, I read that in several somethings called "biographies".
This whole conversation points out the need for our children to have an accurate grasp of American history, and of it's founders. Otherwise they might be fooled by the B.S. shovelers wishing that this nation WAS Godless.
