Mr. Nice Guys, Dylan Harrison and John Shealey, sentenced in Federal Court today

Comment Up

Florida Southern District Court (flsd)
Docket Number: 9:12-cr-80218

The Federal courthouse was packed today with friends of Mr. Nice Guys, Dylan Harrison, 32, and John Shealey, 40. This is the day that they both got sentenced in the first-ever nation-wide crack down on synthetic drugs. Judge Kenneth Marra presided.

In the testimony it was stated that in the beginning they did not know that what they were doing was illegal.  But after they knew, they continued with the manufacture and distribution and false branding of their fake drugs selling it to whomever wanted to get high. Even a warehouse blew up in West Palm Beach. Synthetic marijuana or what they call analogues, were manufactured and then distributed to gas stations, over the Internet and over the counter. Besides Mr. Nice Guy,  other popular brands are Spice and K-2.

The Federal government recommended  37 to 46 months. They got a whole lot less. The judge stated lack of clarity and that there were different opinions as to what was and what wasn't legal. Because they had no real criminal background prior to this arrest, the court was lenient.

Dylan Harrison, a manufacturer and distributor of the illegal substances was given one year plus one day. His early cooperation took a big part in the sentence reduction. Harrison admitted that he was wrong and that he was guilty. He humbly requested leniency and the court listened.

John Shealey, Harrison's partner, got 18 months. They both have until October 18 to get their affairs settled before they must surrender to the U.S. Marshals office in Miami.

Just heard on the news that two of those black kids who beat up the 13 year old got probation. This is the way of the world now. Be a criminal and get a little tap on the wrist.

Going to federal court is a real experience. One of the family members who was in line in front of me said, "He will get off." He nearly did. I can honestly say that both defendants seemed quite pleased with the sentencing. Greed got in the way and they both admitted greed was a factor.

Well Lynn, now that the sentencing is over with you can Find something else to RANT about, these two will probably never leave the Palm Beach County Jail, and it is obvious Your Goal is to do everything in Your Power to Destroy Lake Worth.

Shanon Materio's business in Lake Worth looks like CRAP! When is she going to paint this eye sore on Dixie?

A year and a day is actually 9 months minus the 3 weeks already served in county jail. Dylan will be out in eight months. Eight months in federal camp is not even long enough to learn to play chess.

Thanks for your point of view that has been somewhat skewed, Kavasutra. He was "rewarded" yesterday. Too bad he can't get sentenced on arrogance.
ONLY IN AMERICA!

We don't want this punk's business in our downtown. Andy Amorosa you should return the $1500 corrupt campaign contributions you got from him and his associates. You weren't judged before but you should have been.

Lets meet at Andys store and discuss your concerns with him. when are you available?

amorosa only meets with his friends or Dylan Harrison at his store. The rest of the city has to make an appointment at his office at city hall.

Lynn did you really go to the sentencing!? That must've been intense!

Yes, I was there. There was standing room only in the court room. They had all their friends and family members in the court. It gave the appearance of a lot of sympathy and solidarity towards the defendants. The defendants gave emotional statements how they'll never do it again, etc. etc. and the court gave them huge breaks and went against the Federal government and its recommendation.

No cameras or cell phones were allowed. Dylan Harrison looked totally different to me. John Shealey's father spoke before the judge and he described them as "good kids."

Before getting past the entry way where we have to go through intense security to get into the court house, one of the family members said to me, "He's going to get off." As a woman cut in line explaining she was family and had to get up to the court like she had some sort of superior divine right to anyone else standing in line or who had come there earlier, I asked her who she was and she told me his mother. I said, "ohhh and gave a look like "too bad." She didn't seem worried. DEA agents at one time had entered her house.

Well, these bad boys lied to the judge that let them off easy. They said that they will never do it again. Well they are in business again already, after releasing their Mr. Nice Guy Relaxinol Dietary Supplement Drink. It's marketed as making you fall asleep. Their Spice/K2 product put Aaron Stinson forever. He smoked Mr. Nice Guy Relaxinol and died. The product is listed as the cause of death on his death certificate. This judge needs to be removed from the bench!

We will make sure their house of cards will soon fall again. This time when we move it will be 20-years not a slap on the wrist...
