Back in 1998, Tom Ramaccio was all for developing our beach with hotels and losing control of it for decades--turning it over to a developer, possibly for 75 years. In fact, the article below states that he actually led the effort. The Commission allowed four developers to submit plans that had hotels and time-shares. The residents had complained profusely and were really up in arms about losing control of our beach as well as commercializing it. After all, it was their beach and they didn't want a couple of commissioners making those sorts of decisions.Below are two articles from that period. Retha Lowe was a commissioner and she voted with the developers as she did "not want to lose credibility with them." It was all right to lose credibility with the people, however. Retha was the one who recently hosted a meet and greet at the Hope Baptist church for Tom Ramiccio. Ramiccio finally, after wild public out-cry, listened to the people he served. One of the naysayers who wanted to give away our beach back then recently involved himself in the PBSO issue, another thing where the City did lose control because of politics.

Back room politics and wheeling and dealing-those words describe Ramiccio 's actions PERFECTLY. Ramiccio didn't care about what the people of Lake Worth wanted then and he doesn't care now. Ramiccio thinks that he owns Lake Worth and to hell with the citizens.You'd have to be insane or corrupt to want Tom Ramiccio anywhere NEAR our city!!!

This was more than 12 years ago and the Beach has still not become a reality. Isn't it time to stop looking in the past and start looking to the future? I am sure many would like to forget what happened 12 years ago. Why not look for the positive things that were done 12 years ago.
For what reason should we forget what Tom has done in the past? Are you kidding me? What do you mean the beach is not a reality? don't you know that the casino is almost knocked down and it will be rebuilt? Living in a vacuum is serious business. What positive things happened under Ramiccio? He got defeated by Romano.
Why in the world would you stop looking at the past of someone running for office? Ramiccio wanted give away control of our beach to developers. Now Ramiccio wants to give away control of our utilities.Both the beach and our electric utility are multi million dollar assets.Ramiccio is behind the scenes in both cases.Learn from the past to get insight into Ramiccio's present actions. Both his presant and past stink.
