Debbie keeps doing Mitt

Now someone is "doing" her--

Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz’s request of Governor Romney to release his tax returns screams of hypocrisy, because to the best of our knowledge, Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz has never released a single tax return of her own.  As a Member of Congress, she is required to release a yearly ‘financial disclosure,’ this yearly disclosure is not a tax return.

While asking for Governor Romney to release his past tax returns, and in keeping with the spirit of President Obama’s call for ‘full transparency,’ we ask Congressman Wasserman Schultz to release her own tax returns.

Politics is Dirty Pool

Comment Up
Special message from Black America's Political Action Committee:

Here is what Allen is up against:

The liberal GOP establishment first redrew Allen's district to make it more liberal.

These same liberals then recruited a left-wing "Republican in Name Only" to run against him in the primary.

Then, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama made Allen their number one target for defeat in the House of Representatives this year and recruited a tough, well-funded Democrat opponent.

Bill Maher, the "comedian" who is one of Barack Obama's biggest donors, is even getting involved. He just called Congressman Allen West an APE!

Now both the RINOs and every crazy left-wing group in America are gunning for Allen West.

That's why BAMPAC is going all out to support our good friend. We are going to pay for phone banks, ads, mailings and whatever Allan needs in order to make sure he wins this primary and gets reelected this fall.

Please help Congressman West.
Make the most generous contribution you possibly can to BAMPAC's campaign to support Allen West
But please act quickly. Allen is fighting a nasty RINO opponent in his primary and we have to help him now.

Lake Worth City Commission Agenda

A few of the volunteers for RP Pac

The Commission will be considering the people's right to vote and has brought back the item that recently failed on a 3/2 vote. As one former commissioner who works in our downtown stated yesterday, "No one wants 65 foot buildings." Well, we know of three commissioners (Maxwell, Triolo and Amoroso) who do and that's why we are petitioning.

On Tonight's agenda:

New Business G:
Ordinance No. 2012-29 - First Reading - to place The Respectful Planning Lake Worth Political Committee's charter amendment regarding building heights on the November 6, 2012, ballot; and schedule the public hearing date for August 7, 2012

New Business H:
To reconsider and discuss the Commission's decision to prepare a charter amendment regarding height limitations.

There is a possibility that these items may be moved up to an earlier spot on the Agenda.

Lake Worth considering moving elections back to March

Comment Up
Consider this--
We are the only municipality of which I know in Palm Beach County with November local elections. Those cities that were  smart enough to keep their elections in March are:  BelleGlade, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Greenacres, Gulfstream, Haverhill, Highland Beach, Juno Beach, Lantana, Loxatcheee, Manalapan, Mangonia Park, Ocean Ridge, Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach, South Bay, and West Palm Beach.

A few years ago, Susan Bucher spoke in front of the Commission and told them that our election should be moved back to March because it was going to cost us much more money if we should need a run-off. If our elections are forced into a run-off, we will pay more money as there will be no other city to help defray the cost. Remember Broward County's special election of several years ago that cost about $75,000 — for 204 votes.

Tomorrow night this subject is back on the Agenda for consideration.  It will be a harder sell now that the voters already approved moving our elections back to November just 5 years ago and most voters equate elections to the month of November. Those voting 5 years ago totaled 3,548 with 1,644 voting NO to November elections.

Having November elections, particularly in a presidential election year, moves our candidates and issues to the bottom of what is at times a very long ballot. The negative of a majority commission voting on this is that it will keep Maxwell, Triolo and Amoroso in power for an additional four months. When it was the opposite (March to November) it allowed Jeff Clemens to stay in office an additional 8 months. As much as I disapprove of this, I still believe it is the best solution all around to have March elections--convenience and costs are big factors as well as those voters who cast their ballot are driven by the local candidate and the issues only.

This item will be on tomorrow's agenda under New Business 12-F.

Dead Dogs for Obama

Comment Up
Obama wants to trace the movement of farm animals but not illegal aliens; he wants to ID every farm animal to protect the public health but does not want to ID voters to protect the integrity of elections.

Respectful Planning Committee - Walking Shoes

Comment Up

Those who could make it, showed up at the steps of City Hall--part of our "core" group, full of enthusiasm to walk some more to meet the goal.

There's a lot to be said about small town charm especially in our downtown that is vibrant and busy. Why is it? It's a walkable city that is small, airy and friendly. People love that about Lake Worth.

Put on your walking shoes and help petition for voters' rights on building heights. It's your city; it's your downtown. It does not belong to a developer or any one commissioner who wants our city to grow higher. Your right to petition is guaranteed. Your voice can be represented.

West capitulates to Big Business Lobby

Comment Up

Don't we all believe in humane treatment of animals?  It seems like a "no-brainer" to me. However,  Colonel Allen West has just changed his position on more humane treatment of egg laying hens. He advocated for larger cages for hens and now has changed his mind. Some of these hens are in cages 6 inches by 8 inches.

West reversed his position. The agriculture business' lobby, Keep Food Affordable, and a lobby that represents 56 large egg-producing farms, has been running attack ads against West. They are afraid of over-regulation of farming in general particularly pigs. Those ads have appeared on just about every Internet site.

The Lobby gave the pitch that if egg producing farms had to provide better conditions for hens, then it would cost them money or eggs would be produced in foreign countries and the cost of eggs would sky-rocket. However, it is estimated that over twenty years, it would cost consumers less than one cent per egg.

Remember the Pregnant Pig amendment in 2002?

The language that appeared on the ballot for the Pregnant Pig that passed with 54.75%:
Inhumane treatment of animals is a concern of Florida citizens; to prevent cruelty to animals and as recommended by The Humane Society of the United States, no person shall confine a pig during pregnancy in a cage, crate or other enclosure, or tether a pregnant pig, on a farm so that the pig is prevented from turning around freely, except for veterinary purposes and during the prebirthing period; provides definitions, penalties, and an effective date.

Government has an obligation to protect animals, not just big business that is exploiting them for profit. Animal cruelty is an issue that no one supports. You got lousy advice on this one Colonel.

Immigration check laws approved by those taking Poll

In the wake of the Supreme Court decision on Arizona's SB 1070 law and the Obama Administration’s executive “DREAM” amnesty, two-thirds of likely voters say they want their own states to enact police immigration status check laws. The Washington Times/JZ Analytics poll also found that 49 percent think illegal aliens should be "given a chance to get their affairs in order then sent home.”

Drill Baby

From The Washington Times:

While the Obama administration was taking a victory lap last week after the 5-4 Supreme Court decision to uphold the president’s signature legislative accomplishment, Obamacare, the Interior Department was using the media black hole to release a much-awaited five-year plan for offshore drilling. That plan re-institutes a 30-year moratorium on offshore energy exploration that will keep our most promising resources locked away until long after President Obama begins plans for his presidential library.

Given the timing, it is clear that the self-described “all of the above” energy president didn’t want the American people to discover that he was denying access to nearly 98 percent of America’s vast energy potential on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS).

It should be noted that a federal judge held Obama's Interior Department in contempt for their illegal drilling moratorium.

Petitioning on building heights Lake Worth

Comment Up

A Lake Worth group, Respectful Planning PAC, is petitioning to put a ceiling on building height.

If you need further information, please call Carolyn Deli, 586-4999 or Lynn Anderson, 585-7839, if you want to sign the petition or get involved.

Click here to read the article and view the video from last night's 11pm news and hear what a few had to say.

Helen Marino, a top circulator

Voters in one South Florida city may get to decide if they want to limit the height of buildings in and around downtown. The issue could be placed on the November ballot in Lake Worth. One group is doing a petition drive and collecting signatures to get it on the ballot. But they don't have much time.

Obama continues to allow outsourcing of U.S. jobs and this is the last straw.

Stand-Up Guys

Comment Up

Britain being ruled by Political Correctness. The name of this article should be change to political "stupidness."

The entire world is falling apart, economies are collapsing and Muslims are reproducing at a number that will never be surpassed. People all of a sudden are afraid of their own shadow. Few people stand up for what they believe anymore. You can see it on blogs when comments are primarily by anonymous posters. They are afraid of their own shadow and consequently when you get elected officials like Allen West who is the most stand-up guy around, he "takes a bullet" by left-wing extremists.

Let's get more politically incorrect people to tell the truth and show us the way.

Quinnipiac Poll shows citizens don't like Obamacare

Comment Up
From The Weekly Standard: Quinnipiac poll shows that — by a 15-point margin — the Supreme Court’s Obamacare ruling makes voters less likely, rather than more likely, to cast their vote for President Obama.

Twenty-seven percent of registered voters say that the ruling makes them “less likely” to vote for Obama, while only 12 percent say that it makes them “more likely” to do so. Only 9 percent of independents say that they are “more likely” to vote for Obama because of the ruling, compared to 27 percent who are “less likely.”

Labor or Business - Fl District 87 Senate Race

Comment Up

Labor or Business...pick your candidate. The all-Palm Beach County senate district race is shaping up to be a business vs. labor union battle, not an unusual platform for many campaigns. Except this race is between two Democrats, who rarely receive glowing endorsements from business-backed lobbies (except in Democratic primaries.) Read about Jeff Clemens (labor) and Mack Bernard (Business) here.
