On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump appeared in an interview on Salem News Channel’s America First with Sebastian Gorka and discussed the “horror show” of Ukraine, declaring that he would strike a peace deal to end the war “within 24 hours” if he were president.

“Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if I were in the White House, and what’s going on there is a horror show,” Trump The 45th president also revealed that he believes the media is drastically under reporting the death toll in the war.

Those cities are being leveled, I mean, they’re being leveled. I’ve looked photos and aerials of cities where there’s not a building standing, and then they’ll say two people were injured – no many, many people are being killed,” Trump told Gorka.

The Senate Judiciary Committee has not provided a lot of information regarding the hearing which has been titled “Oversight of the Department of Justice.” The hearing is set for Wednesday at 10 a.m. and is widely expected to cover questions about the investigations on President Biden and former President Trump, as well as questions about the investigation into former Vice President Mike Pence.

Biden won't use his pen on repealing D.C.'s crime law

President Biden will allow Congress to overturn new D.C. crime law

In a private meeting on Thursday President Biden informed Senate Democrats that he will not use his veto power to block a GOP-led effort to repeal D.C.'s new crime law. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer confirmed the decision to reporters following the meeting.

The president later confirmed his decision in a tweet stating: "I support D.C. Statehood and home-rule – but I don't support some of the changes D.C. Council put forward over the Mayor's objections – such as lowering penalties for carjackings. If the Senate votes to overturn what D.C. Council did – I'll sign it."

Congress has unique legislative power over Washington, D.C., outlined both in the U.S. Constitution and the 1973 District of Columbia Home Rule Act, which gives Congress the power to block any laws by the D.C. Council. While rarely used, it is not unprecedented.

FBI Agents Wanted to Close Trump Documents Probe, but DOJ and FBI Leaders Pushed for a Raid

Some Federal Bureau of Investigations field agents wanted to shut down the probe into suspected documents held by former President Donald Trump as early as June, but Justice Department leaders pushed for and ultimately got a surprise raid on Mar-a-Lago in August, according to a report.

According to the Washington Post, FBI officials and the DOJ clashed fiercely over how to handle recovering suspected classified documents from Trump, with FBI agents arguing for a cooperative approach and the DOJ pushing for the unprecedented raid on a former president’s home.

The aggressive approach was starkly different than the cooperative one the DOJ and FBI have taken towards classified documents held by President Joe Biden at his former office at the Penn Biden Center office in D.C. and his home garage in Delaware.

Arguing for a more cooperative approach was the then-head of the FBI Washington field office Steven D’Antuono, was adamantly opposed. Garland ordered it.

Four panhandlers sued the City of Lake Worth Beach and won $75,000.

"Lake Worth Beach, the target of a federal lawsuit filed by four homeless people, has joined a growing number of cities throughout the nation that are paying settlements and walking back their anti-panhandling rules.

The city commission voted in February to approve a combined $75,000 total settlement with the four men. According to their lawsuit, they racked up thousands of dollars in court fees after being arrested more than 200 times combined — all for alleged violations of a panhandling ordinance.

Such rules, which prevent people from asking for money or other assistance in public areas, are a violation of the First Amendment, and they fail to address the root causes of homelessness, the suit argued." [PBPost]
