Jimmy Kimmel bombed acceptance speech with one insult about Donald Trump that was obnoxious
Last September, ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live! off the air indefinitely after the host made controversial comments about Charlie Kirk's assassination.Jimmy Kimmel took the stage Sunday night at the Critics Choice Awards to accept the trophy for Best Talk Show.
Kimmel claimed during his September 15 monologue that the "MAGA gang" was trying to score political points by characterizing Kirk's alleged killer as anything other than one of their own.
Kimmel made sure to thank the person he blamed for nearly ending his career.
"And most of all, I want to thank our president, Donald Jennifer Trump, without whom, we would be going home empty-handed tonight," Kimmel told the audience at the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles.
The audience burst out laughing at the intentional mocking of Trump's middle initial...obviously all Democrats.
"So thank you, Mr. President, for all the many ridiculous things you do each and every day," Kimmel continued. "It's been a banner couple of weeks, and we can't wait to get back on the air tomorrow night to talk about them."
Kimmel signed a contract extension with ABC in December that will keep Jimmy Kimmel Live! on the air through 2027.
