Democrat Ghazala Hashmi, projected to be Virginia’s lieutenant governor, will become the first Muslim woman elected statewide.
Mikie Sherrill won in New Jersey by a landslide. Abigail Spanberger also won in Virginia by a landslide.
In Minneapolis, Frey received 42% of first-choice votes. State Sen. Omar Fateh, a Muslim, received 31%; DeWayne Davis, 13%; and Jazz Hampton, 10%.

Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was ground zero for the conservative takeover of school boards & anti-LGBTQ policies in 2021, on the Central Bucks and Pennridge boards.
Dems flipped both boards back in 2023.
As of yesterday, Dems have ousted *all* Republicans from both school boards.

Moderate/Dem-backed candidates are currently sweeping every school board race in conservative Douglas County, Colorado (home to a famous school voucher experiment). Would give moderates total 7-0 control of the school board.

Every single county in Virginia moved toward the Democrats, who appear to have picked up at least 12 seats in the Virginia House of Delegates. Democrat Mikie Sherrill won the governorship of New Jersey by more than ten points.

@8:47...Colorado is considered a safe blue state. Maine is considered somewhat Democratic in presidential elections having voted Democratic in every presidential election since 1992.
