Col. Susannah Meyers, once the commanding officer of the 821st Space Base Group in Greenland, has been dismissed from her role.According to Fox News, Her email contradicting Vice President JD Vance's statements led to a statement of mistrust from the Pentagon.
Meyers, who had been stationed at Pituffik, Greenland, sent an email to her personnel shortly after Vance’s pointed remarks on Denmark's handling of Greenlandic issues. In her March 31 email, she expressed a perspective that differed from the vice president’s, suggesting that the base staff did not share his views.
Meyers alluded to the challenges and reflections triggered by the vice president’s visit, stating, “I have spent the weekend thinking about Friday's visit — the actions taken, the words spoken, and how it must have affected each of you.”
This introspection, however, led to higher-ups questioning her capability to maintain an apolitical stance as required in her role.
