James Comer has called on Democrat governors of sanctuary states, including Tim Walz, J.B. Pritzker, and Kathy Hochul, to testify before the Oversight Committee about their immigration policies, particularly those obstructing federal law enforcement.

Comer’s aggressive stance includes reminding the Governors that harboring illegal aliens is a federal crime and threatening to withhold federal funding from sanctuary states, a move backed by President Trump.

As sanctuary cities and states are put on the defensive, the Democrats’ support for such policies faces scrutiny, with Republicans pushing for stronger enforcement of federal immigration laws.

Sanctuary states and cities are fighting tooth and nail to stop President Donald Trump from deporting illegal aliens.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is putting the Democrat Governors of some of the country’s biggest sanctuary states in the hot seat.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, and New York Governor Kathy Hochul were called to testify before the Oversight Committee. The Democrat Governors will be asked to testify on their states’ sanctuary policies.

“Sanctuary jurisdictions and their obstructionist policies hinder the ability of federal law enforcement officers to effectuate safe arrests and remove dangerous criminals from American communities,” Comer wrote Governors. “This threatens Americans’ safety.”
