Two Venezuelan migrants were arrested after they attacked and injured a Texas National Guard member, causing him to fall into razor wire, Texas authorities announced this week.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, as the soldier was standing near the wire that authorities had set up to prevent illegal migrant crossings. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a female migrant grabbed the soldier by the neck while a male migrant grabbed his leg, causing him to fall into the wire.

The soldier was later assisted by troopers and fellow soldiers who came to his aid. The two migrants responsible for the attack were identified as a 38-year-old Venezuelan woman and a 33-year-old Venezuelan man. Both have been charged with assault, but the woman was released at large as she was traveling with children, while the man received a $3,500 bond.
