Supreme Court agrees to hear suit by Facebook parent company against cyber intelligence firm
In a major development, Breitbart reported that the Supreme Court agreed on Monday to hear a lawsuit involving Facebook parent company Meta.The lawsuit pits Meta against the NSO Group, an Israeli cyber intelligence company that created a spyware program known as “Pegasus.” The Program is said to have targeted heads of state along with reporters and activists.
Meta contends that the Pegasus program allowed governments to spy on journalists, activists, and political figures who used its social media platform WhatsApp. “NSO’s spyware has enabled cyberattacks targeting human rights activists, journalists and government officials,” the company was quoted as saying in its brief.
