Palm Beach State College student threatened to commit mass shooting
Police arrested a Palm Beach State College student after he made several posts threatening a mass shooting on the college campus. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office responded to a call Thursday at the state college's Boca Raton campus. At the campus, deputies met with the college security office, who advised law enforcement about a student making online threats.A college security officer told a sheriff’s detective that Jean was enrolled in classes on the college’s Boca Raton and Lake Worth Beach campuses, and that he had been on the premises as recently as Tuesday. Saul Jean, 24, a student at the college, had made several posts on the nonprofit website Change.org, implying he threatened to conduct terroristic acts on the school campus.
"So if I end up killing/murdering others. Their deaths are on your hands," one of the messages said on the website.
Jean proceeded to encourage others to commit mass shootings and promoted targeted government officials, including Gov. Ron DeSantis.
