Quote of the Day - Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell

Comment Up
"I can't stand people who freakin lie...bold face lie--a bold face freakin lie...people were lied to to get the vote."

~ Scott Maxwell

Giving what he thought was an off the record opinion on all those who spoke in favor of and voted for the Charter Amendment.

This is someone running for re-election who represents ALL of the people but it is apparent that he, along with Pam Triolo and Andy Amoroso, also running for re-election, only represent what they and their core group wants and have contempt for anyone with a different opinion.

Even the mayor stated that we who won the vote only did so because we told people that skyscrapers could be built next door to their homes. I think that is libelous and certainly inexcusable for an elected official to state such a fabrication in public in order to discredit the outcome of the vote along  with 56% of the residents who voted to have lower heights in our downtown.

This trio is caught up in the rapture of dishonest politics (a little bit of despotism here) but for some reason, and I could be wrong, but I believe that they actually are convinced of what they say. That makes it all the worse as it's just not all politics. And that is most unfortunate because they, being in the position they are in, influence those easily persuaded. Their core group has been convinced that anyone who doesn't go along with them is an anarchist, against all development, wants to keep our city in a ghetto, etc.  They have not once reached out to the other side to even understand why we went out on a referendum. They prefer to be bullies and to dishonor their citizens.

They did not reach out to you? Does the word compromise mean anything to you? They asked if there was a compromise and you said "NO". What kind of reaching out are you talking about? Do you need a hug?

We won the vote. There is no compromise after a vote is won. The city should be compromising along with Hudson Holdings. Go down to 45 feet and all will be fine. Stop the greed and start listening to the voters.

So according to Scott Maxwell ,56% of the people are liars. Or stupid. How dare people not agree with the all knowing all seeing Scott Maxwell? The only stupid thing people did in this town was voting Scott Maxwell into office.Mr. Maxwell has called me a racist TWICE in public comments from the dais. Why? Because I was against the ill conceived 63 million dollar cash grab from businesses and citizens. There could have been a much better, more reasonable plan. People like Tammy Panza stood up at district meetings and explained how our roads could have begun to be fixed in a reasonable manner. But Mr. Maxwell didn't want to listen to the people he is supposed to be representing. It makes you wonder just who Mr. Maxwell is representing. Katie Mcgiveron

You want to compromise the vote anony 848 then I say let these three step down immediately. I didn't vote for them to commit anarchy.

Scott really has anger issues, if the majority of the public goes against him on an issue, i.e. LW2020 or the height amendment he resorts to name calling, insults, and angry outbursts.

It's sad that this person represents District 1.

So sad that Scott is an angry person. I dont understand why people voted for him again after his first term of Commissioner, he went out taking with him things he shouldn't have taken, computer, cell phone and said they were stolen out of his car. What were they doing in his car? That is the reason I didnt vote for him and never would. First time is enough. He is a typical "Little Guy" wanting to be noticed, and having his angry tantrums help him to be noticed.

Compromise on WHAT, anon at 8:48? On an election ? That's not how it works. And you know what else doesn't work? Elected officials like Scott Maxwell, Pam Triolo and Andy Amoroso bending over for Hudson Holdings while they treat the citizens with contempt and total disrespect.

Scott ,read this slowly. It was a pretty simple concept. The voters were asked if they wanted heights to be 65 feet or 45 feet maximum in our downtown corridor. In fact, it was so simple that you Scott Maxwell couldn't lie to the people about how they should vote. The only lie was an illegal banner that your friends hung on the Gulfstream Hotel.Get over it, Burger Boy.

I am voting for Maxwell in March.. And you all will be too. Have you seen the competition?

@9:42...I have not talked to the "competition." I have been told that he is a college graduate and extremely smart. He's an environmentalist and he stands up for the right side of that issue. The "other" side of politics is already attacking him so that has to make me wonder what is it about this man they are so afraid of? I will be looking forward to listening to him during the debates.
