Jeff Clemens's bill, if approved by the Legislature, would go on the November 2016 ballot. The measure seeks to restore the voting rights of felons who have completed their sentences. People with restored rights also would be eligible to hold public office. Automatic restoration would not apply to felons convicted of sexual offenses or homicide.

I wish this looser would do something more for the common people here in FL, he is always trying to get something passed for speeders, druggies, and now prisoners. Why doesn't he try to address and help the poor, the crime problems, the conditions of our city, the blight, the poor students who are faced with bullying and gang enticement. I have lost my faith in government elected officials like this goon, he never did anything for Lake Worth when mayor, and now his efforts are even worse. What a huge disappointing clemens has been for the people of our area. When will he listen to his constituents?
Now they're going to be able to have elected office. Swell. Don't we have enough "felons" already in Washington?
