DOT to do major overhaul of I-95 in Lake Worth
On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host an informational Open /House for the I-95 skid hazard overlay project from north of 6th Avenue South to Lake Worth Road in the City of Lake Worth. The meeting will be held in the Lake Worth City Hall conference room from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., located at 7 North Dixie Highway, Lake Worth, FL, 33460. Please note this will be just prior to the City Commission meeting that begins at 6 p.m.
Project personnel will be on hand to discuss the scope of work, construction schedule, and address questions and comments one-on-one. No formal presentation will be made.
This 0.5-mile project is scheduled to begin Friday, March 14, 2014, and is expected to be completed in late summer 2014, weather permitting. The construction cost is $1.8 million. Work is being performed by Ram Construction Services, with the Florida Department of Transportation overseeing the project.
Scope of Work
Installation of a high friction epoxy overlay on the bridge deck from north of 6th Avenue South to Lake Worth Road
Installation of thermoplastic pavement markings
Maintenance of Traffic
In order to do this work safely, it will be necessary to close travel lanes at various times and locations. I-95 multilane and single-lane ramp closures can be expected from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning. During the final phase of construction in summer 2014, full nightly ramp closures can be expected at the I-95 southbound entrance and exit ramps at 6th Avenue South, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday morning.
