Bike Night Discontinued
Comment Up
Bike Night will not be coming back...The Sheriff’s department said there were too many noise complaints from local residents.
I guess someone finally checked the decibels.

You mean to tell me that Bud and Helen Greene aren't crazy?
The Greenes complained about the loud music coming from The Cottage. The Cottage is no longer a worry. What goes around comes around or something like that.
Lynn, you really do take joy in the slow, downward spiral of lake worth....what exactly do you have against the corridor of downtown business?? Is it just because they generally tend to support your political "opposition" or do you really not want these people to support their families? Not trying to be disrespectful but I do sense a pattern?
I made an announcement, anonymous. I did not take a position on it. Frankly, I stayed away from the downtown on Thursday nights.
You know, the decisions that are made here should not NOT just be for businesses. They should involve all of the people and the surrounding neighbors. It is the residents who pay the majority of taxes and they should be listened to.
So, you see a trend? The "trend" is for this commission to listen to the people. How many complaints do they have to get before any action is ever taken?
"the cottage is no longer a worry". See how backwards you think. There's an empty restaurant in a prime location on Lucerne. Lots of cars drive by there daily. Any empty shop or building downtown is a worry. Your gloating about a local business closing is based on the fact that they supported your "dirty dozen". So there's a closed building downtown and you gloat about it. Kind of a foolish mindset don't you think?
The Cottage is OUT OF BUSINESS. They did not adhere to our local ordinances. They did not pay the State taxes. They had liens galore. They did a dirty number on the former city manager who tried to get them into compliance. I have no sympathy with them. If your side of politics still sides with these losers, it just shows how right we are. I am rather sure some other business will eventually open in that spot and will comply with local, county and state laws and we all will be better off for it.
LOL! the cottage was open for almost 10 years and they didn't pay their state taxes and had liens galore?? Do you know what the average shelf life of a restaurant is?? They were there for a lifetime compared to most other establishments?? The Cottage was always giving back to the Lake Worth Playhouse, Compass, High School teams and fundraisers......the town needs more local business that give back to the community....anyways, what does the that place even have to do with Bike Night??
LOL yourself. You are doing what you guys do best--twist bad behavior and try and make it right somehow. They gave to fundraisers...there was probably a benefit to them proving that they were Mr. Nice Guy. They didn't pay their bills. I could care less about the average shelf life of a restaurant. You seem to know it all.
They are gone--good riddance. It is not the business of a local store to give anything back to this city other than to work within our laws, pick up their garbage and provide a good quality etc. and keep their establishment clean.
It is interesting the way that people see things. I've always said that everyone has a way of justifying there evils. I don't go into the town central at night because of the noise but fortunately, it appears that maybe things are improving. It seems that most of this present commission is pro-noise. Love Couco Pazzo where one can dine and also have a conversation with friends at the same time.
