Shelley Vana elected Chair Palm Beach County Commission

Season’s Greetings--

I am delighted to be writing to you as the newly elected Chair of the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners.I have been honored to have been selected by my colleagues to lead this Commission after serving only three short years. I am eager to take on the new challenges and responsibilities that await me in the coming year and as always look forward to your comments and suggestions as we move forward into 2012.

Every day at the County Commission Office brings new challenges and opportunities. No day is the same and no day is ever boring. I am thankful that I have the honor of representing you as Commissioner of District 3. Since we are in the season when we contemplate things for which we are thankful, I am listing some of the things that we might be thankful for in Palm Beach County.

  • Great park system-facilities for every interest.
  • Environmental land and water areas that are preserved and maintained for future generation’s enjoyment.
  • A rich cultural community.
  • A water utility that is nationally recognized for best practices (and good water!)
  • A sheriff’s office that is hands on and whose deputies are integral parts of our communities.
  • Committed and informed residents who participate in their government.
And I am ever thankful for my consistently hard-working staff, Kathy Peck, Quianna Gray and Danna Ackerman-White. They make the magic happen when constituents need help.

If I can be of assistance or if you have any comments and/or suggestions you can reach me at svana@pbcgov.org or at my office at 561-355-2203 or visit my website: http://pbcgov.com/countycommissioners/district3

It’s an honor serving you!

Shelley
