overpaying for houses, and now fixing bicycle routes.. Maybe they could do something useful.
The bicycle routes are very important. Many people use bicycles to get around in Lake Worth. And no,not just the illegals ! Geez!
Perhaps at the new community center where they are teaching English, they can teach some of these bicyclers the laws and not to ride their bikes on the sidewalks, etc.
It was wrong of the city to strip 2nd ave north from any parking to put it two way and put another west-bound bike lane, there is already one one block away on Lucerne ave west-bound too. The city has displaced hundreds of parking spots and people who used to park there, the never gave any thought to use, just the bikers, who never follow the rules of the road anyway, they use the sidewalks and never signal or follow the rules like cars have to. It is great to have bike lanes, but are we going overboard? So many just ride on the sidewalk or not even in the bike lanes, where can we park anymore? My neighbors will be mad at me, but I will need to start parking more in front of their house, blame the city and all who wanted all of this, tired of fighting city hall and all who use little logic and just do things out of spite or selfishly, we need to be all inclusive for all bikers and parkers, not just all one extreme for bikers. We need more balance, it will catch up to them at a meeting one of these days.
Stoopid, why would the city or CRA spend monty to stripe bike lanes on streets that need repaving, the striping is not going to last at all.
Also, why would you stripe on one way streets that are neighborhood streets used by the people who live in the neighborhood for parking. I live on O street, I bike, I think biking is a great thing and it makes sense to put lanes in on major roads, i.e. Lake, Lucerne, to and from the Tri-Rail, the schools, etc.
The striping on O makes no sense, we bike down the middle of the street because there is parking on each side of this one way street, we will continue to bike down the middle of the street, this is a waste of money and it does nothing to improve the neighborhood in fact I think it makes it messy.
