Take back land-use decisions from ‘Corruption County’

Even though the Palm Beach Post refuses to see the truth and hurled an insult at Palm Beach County resident Lesley Blackner who founded Florida Hometown Democracy saying she was "disgruntled," we, the voters, know better--at least those of us not involved in over developing our State for the almighty buck, and others who derive their income from real estate sales or merchants who have no country.

Thus, we agree with the following Letter to the Editor:

In response to the recent criticism of Amendment 4, the people of Florida are sick and tired of corrupt politicians. In Palm Beach County, it seems that every couple of months another commissioner is in trouble. The Department of Justice says that Florida has more political corruption than any other state. Most of the guilty politicians have been corrupted by money from developers. This can take the form of secret land deals or money in exchange for a vote.

The politicians and developers who oppose Amendment 4 think the people are not smart enough to make decisions on land-use changes. That could not be
further from the truth. The people of Florida can see how unbridled growth causes lower property values, crowded roads and schools and higher taxes. Just look at counties to the south and see how the quality of life has been compromised by poor planning and over-development.

Vote for Amendment 4, and take back control of land-use decisions from corrupt politicians.
