The world is a ridiculous place if you think about it.  No one can get along...not one person... unless you are a monk living in a monastery, you will have differences that lead to "war" with just about everyone at any given time.  People don't believe in "live and let live" any more.  The world is way too dangerous and way too corrupt.  There are people planning our demise.  They don't believe in Christianity; They hate the state of Israel and don't like Judaism; They hate women and women are thought of as chattel.  Human rights?  Forget about it. The terrorists are out there planning our demise and have promised that they will see us again in New York.

Take our own city as an example--everyone is always trying to bring down the other guy who has a different opinion by belittling him or just plain insulting him by calling him an A-hole as an example. They scrutinize everything to find a fault, manufactured or real, but always want the last word, the "gotcha."  Where there used to be a lot of love, now there is a lot of hate and some people do not allow you to have a different thought from theirs and go around spouting, "God how I hate that bitch." These are your neighbors and this sort of behavior should never happen.  It's a game and a blood sport in Lake Worth. No one trusts the government and the status quo.  We can't get beyond ourselves because people are way too nasty. In debating an issue you need body armor. We have seen it all go "south" way too many times and millions of dollars in this city have gone "missing" and the rest is eaten up by union retirement benefits. Bad decisions have cost us dearly.

Judge Jeanine asked the following question to John Bolton:  "ISIS has been on a genocidal rampage throughout Christian communities in Syria and Iraq. Why is Obama only now acting to prevent genocide? Is the world descending into chaos under Obama’s watch?”  There are Americans in Syria learning "Jihad Cool" who will return here to inflict pain and bring us all down...homegrown terrorists--your next door neighbors perhaps. ISIS is grabbing up parts of the Mid-East and this country is a target and part of its plan. And we don't/can't even close our borders.

No one feels as safe as they used to feel when life was calmer and less hectic.  No one had much prosperity in the 1950's but there was little crime back then and doors were never locked.  Never in a million years would you think of taking something that did not belong to you and never did you feel you would be harmed by another American or denigrated for your beliefs.  You respected people and you were brought up that way. People immigrated and gave up the "old' ways and assimilated and learned English.

Now we have people wanting to change this country, bomb our cities and kill us. They want their own way regardless and even throw away democracy itself by not honoring an election in Lake Worth decided by the voters. We have preachers saying "God damn America" and a president who followed his teachings for over 20 years. What can we expect? The insanity goes on.

Vote AGAINST bonds

Debbie keeps on doing it

Let's face the cold hard facts.  Our government has borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund and it has done this for nearly 45 years. I really hate garbage such as this from Debbie Wasserman-Schultz who actually gets paid for bashing Republicans:

Next week, Social Security celebrates its 79th birthday. When President Roosevelt signed Social Security into law, he wrote:

“We can never insure 100% of the population against 100% of the hazards and vicissitudes of life, but we have tried to frame a law which will give some measure of protection to the average citizen and to his family against the loss of a job and against poverty-ridden old age.”

79 years later, we’ve protected that sacred trust between seniors and our country -- growing old does not mean growing poor. But the fact that Social Security works hasn’t stopped Republicans from trying to privatize it.

Social Security has served our nation well for 79 years -- help us make sure it sticks around for another 79 years by signing our petition. Social Security has worked for nearly eight decades, and it will continued to work if we stand up for it.

Thank you.

Debbie

Beginning in fiscal year 1969, (Lyndon Johnson) Social Security and other Federal programs that operate through trust funds were counted officially in the budget. This was done administratively by President Johnson. At the time Congress did not have a budget-making process. In 1974 (Nixon/Ford) Congress adopted procedures for setting budget goals through passage of annual budget resolutions. Like the budgets prepared by the President, these resolutions were to reflect a "unified" budget that included trust fund programs such as Social Security in the budget totals.

Beginning in the late 1970s, (Jimmy Carter) Social Security faced financial problems, and over a period of time legislation was enacted to restore the financial health of the program. However, because the Federal budget deficit remained large, interest in reducing Social Security spending continued. This routine consideration of Social Security constraints led to concerns that cuts in Social Security were being proposed for budgetary purposes rather than programmatic ones.

In response to this concern, a series of measures were enacted in 1983, 1985, and 1987 (Ronald Reagan)  making the program a more distinct part of the budget and permitting Congressional floor objections (points of order) to be raised against budget bills containing Social Security changes. Clueless Leadership

It is that we have a president who is strategically clueless, and who has deliberately or by accident, or by incompetence, weakened the United States. I don’t know. You pick which of those is true. And we are in a very weak position...It’s impossible to be this incompetent, frankly. This is obviously deliberate. The only puzzle is how he (Obama) still can have so many enablers, said Charles Krauthammer.

Blame it on the beer - Incident at Brogues

Will the real A-Hole stand up?

Brogues restaurant is a very popular spot in Lake Worth's downtown known for its loud crowd and loud music.  People go there for fun and good food as well as surrounding themselves with friendly people. And through the years there have been political rallies there as well as debates.  The Democratic Club used to hold their meetings there and neighborhood associations have taken advantage of their large backroom for meetings. Residents throughout the city have always been invited to all NA meetings even if they are not members.

Brogues has a lot of action with a lot of diverse personalities. A Texas woman was just arrested there after kicking a deputy.  She was slurring her words and would not leave the bar even though it was closing time.

But the other night at Brogues, a neighborhood association president of Downtown Jewel did not slur his words when he called a citizen and former member of the Planning & Zoning board an "A-Hole," not once but several times in front of a table of his friends consisting of a mother, grandmother and two small children 2 and 6 years of age for passing out literature on the general obligation bond before the meeting. This "A-Hole" was a guest of these people who were dining there.

The NA president who had no reservations about using vulgar language in front of children some of whom might eventually pay for this general obligation bond should it miraculously pass and a person in the YES crowd, demanded that this resident leave the restaurant because he didn't like his message and obviously felt threatened.

Now I ask you, who is the real A-hole?

To our Finnish Friends - Vote Against Bonds in Lake Worth

Comment Up

TÄRKEÄÄ!!!!

Rakas Naapuri!

  1. Lake Worthin asukkaat voivat päätyä maksamaan korkeimmat verot koko Palm Beach Piirikunnassa.
  2. Tiekunnostuksia ja infrastruktuuria KAIKILLE? Totuus näkyy Lake Worthin Kaupungin Internet sivustolta. Siellä sanotaan selvästi, että ainoastaan 30% teistä korjataan bondeista saatavalla rahoituksella.
  3. 63.5 miljoonaa, korot ja lainanhoitokulut mukaanluettuina tulevat maksamaan Lake Worthin asukkaille 131 miljoonaa 30 vuoden takaisinmaksun aikana.

ELOKUUN 26. PÄIVÄNÄ ÄÄNESTYSPAIKAT OVAT AUKEAVAT KELLO SEITSEMÄN AAMULLA, JA OVAT AVOINNA ILTASEITSEMÄÄN.

ÄÄNESTÄ BONDIESITYSTÄ VASTAAN!

KIITOS

Death and Taxes - No hit or miss thing

Talking about Lake Worth 2020 and the General Obligation bond, a resident made the following snarky statement on Facebook's  Lake Worth Voice after another resident said: You can't determine the proposed costs to the tax payers and what they will pay because it's based on assumptions that may or may not occur from year to year. To say otherwise is not accurate.
:
  • Member: Sam, You don't know if you'll be hit by lightening tomorrow but I bet you'll still leave the house at some point.
Now, the simple fact that you might become a lightning victim in the U.S. in any one year is 1 in 700,000. The odds of being struck in your lifetime is 1 in 3,000. Source:  National Geographic. This is a silly analogy by the YES people.

We know for a fact that if this bond is voted in you will be paying taxes for 34 years on $63.5 million borrowed and on a payout of slightly over $131 million. There is no hit or miss about it. We also know for a fact that the amount you pay from year to year will not be constant as property values rise or even possibly fall again.  This humongous multi-million debt should be cut to a sustainable level, not grabbing it all for possible/probable diversion to "pet" plans or dreams.

The only things that are certain in this life are death and taxes.  This is one tax that can be avoided when you vote AGAINST on August 26.

One Big Pothole

Our government continues to fail at every turn.  Now it has let in two citizens with the deadly virus, Ebola.

Read about what an outbreak would mean for the U.S.  Click here.

Next, we'll be reading about how we have accepted illegals who have crossed our border carrying this disease as well.  We already know that they are coming here in droves with scabies and other contagious diseases and nothing is separating them once they enter detention centers except some caution tape. They are being moved around our country. We have some of these children right here in Lake Worth.

Two plus years to go in order to save America.  OMG.

Gas prices Lake Worth

Have you noticed how gas prices are going down?  What gives with this?  As I drove by my station on Lake Worth Road and the SEC tracks, Valero, the price was at $3.36 for Regular. The cheapest is at 4703 S Military Trl & Melaleuca at $3.23 a gallon, cash price.
