Ilhan Omar Barred from Minneapolis ICE Center
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) clashed with federal agents on Saturday during a heated encounter at an ICE processing center in Minneapolis, the New York Post reports.Omar, 43, along with Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) and Rep. Kelly Morrison (D-MN), sought entry to the Whipple Building facility but were initially denied access by masked military personnel armed with large rifles, as shown in online videos.
Nearly a dozen protesters had been arrested at the same site on Thursday, just days before this incident. The congressional group was briefly allowed inside before being asked to depart.
The incident has ignited discussion about the role of lawmakers in federal operations and the boundaries of their involvement.
“Shortly after we were let in, two officials came in and said they received a message that we were no longer allowed to be in the building and that they were rescinding our invitation and denying any further access to the building,” Omar told The Star Tribune. Well, that’s a swift shutdown—perhaps a reminder that not every federal site is a public forum for political displays.
“The public deserves to know what is taking place in ICE facilities,” Omar concluded on X. Noble sentiment, but staging a media-heavy confrontation might not be the most effective way to address serious policy concerns.

I think Ilhan should be banned from the country...Too bad there is no legal standing for this.
