—Baltimore County Animal Services (BCAS) is marking a milestone anniversary this weekend
It is celebrating 10 years of operations at its Baldwin facility. To commemorate a decade of growth and animal advocacy, the organization will host a 10-hour Adopt-a-Thon and Open House on Saturday, Jan. 10.The event will run from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the shelter located at 13800 Manor Road. The day is designed to offer the community a closer look at the facility’s operations while finding permanent homes for pets currently in the county’s care.
To encourage adoptions, BCAS is waiving all adoption fees for the duration of the event. Furthermore, every person who adopts a new pet will receive a PetSmart gift card to help with initial supplies.
The open house will feature several interactive and service-oriented highlights.
Why is this interesting to Lake Worthians?
Because Dr. Rene Varela, MS, VMD, MPH, is its Bureau Director and the former mayor of Lake Worth Beach.
