DOGE keeps saving Taxpayers money

DOGE, Labor Department halt overseas grants with eye toward financial savings

The U.S. Department of Labor, under guidance from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has made headlines by announcing the cancellation of $577 million in foreign grants, and this decision aims to trim wasteful spending and contribute to a growing fiduciary effort to save taxpayer money.

The DOGE- driven cancellation affects multiple international initiatives, including projects for gender equity and migrant worker protections, aiming to redirect $237 million into broader U.S. savings goals, as Breitbart reports.

Among the affected initiatives is a $10 million project dedicated to advancing gender equality in Mexican workplaces. Other notable eliminations include a $12.2 million effort aimed at enhancing worker empowerment across South America and a $6.25 million initiative focused on improving respect for agricultural workers' rights in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.

The Department reports that eliminating these international grants translates into a $807.45 saving for each U.S. taxpayer. In a broader context, DOGE's actions have resulted in the termination of 9,289 grants, totaling $32 billion in savings. This relentless hunt for inefficiencies seeks to cut wasteful expenditures and enhance governmental productivity.
