Woman In Fraud Case Can Retire With Full Army Benefits
A former Army employee accused of orchestrating a massive fraud scheme while working at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas, has retired with full benefits, despite an ongoing criminal investigation.Janet Yamanaka Mello, who was a civilian financial program manager at the base, allegedly embezzled over $100 million in taxpayer money for personal use over a period of six years.

Mello faces a maximum of over 140 years in prison for the charges, according to the Department of Justice BUT, she gets to keep her retirement from the government.

"Stolen Valor" is a term applied to the phenomenon of people falsely claiming military awards or medals they did not earn, service they did not perform, Prisoner of War experiences that never happened, and other tales of military actions that exist only in their minds.

My definition is stolen valor you go to the airport and you see all these young guy with the uniform on and all these ribbons and metals and he's only like 28 and you ask him about it he's like oh yeah this one is that this one's that I looked right and said dude you got two stars on a bronze star he didn't even know what he stood for that is stolen valor
