President Trump Wins at G-7

Trump Scores Three Big Wins at G-7

According to Fox News--they’ve pulled off three big scores in Biarritz.
  • Topping the list is Iran. Iran is a major worry for the G-7 this summer, overshadowing even Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.

  •   The G-7’s second success was riding out the Russia debate. Trump again brought up the possibility of readmitting Russia, who was kicked after annexing Crimea in 2014.
… And finally:

  • There was Macron on Monday, calling out China’s intellectual property theft, trade dumping and currency manipulation. The solid front on China was the third big win in Biarritz. With China’s assault on rules and freedom and Russia’s aggression, the G-7 is needed more than ever.
The liberal media will work to categorize the trip as a failure and in doing so will likely hide these wins.[1600 Daily]

In what sense are these events a win for Trump? Please clarify!

With Trump trying to get Russia back into the G-7, how is that a win when Russia didn't back out of Crimea?

Russia IS a threat to the West. Don't invite the fox into the hen house....

As President Trump is always 10 steps of everyone else, I am sure that he has a very good reason to suggest that Russia be included once again. It is better to negotiate, etc. when you meet face to face.

@11:57...I can't do your research for you. Go to some source other than the Fake News Media.

I watched the whole thing, and of the 3 issues you claim were a win, I don't know what you are referring to.

He made a suggestion that Russia be admitted back into the group, but there was no unanimous agreement on it.

He greeted the Iranian leader cordially enough, that's good, but Trump dislikes the group; he complained about going; certainly, there were no monumental decisions to come out of it.

If anything, he managed to survive it, so I give him credit for that.

Whatever, 6:54...whatever!

You count admitting Russia back into G8 a win? Looser!

@8:37. I don't pretend to know more than the president of the United States. You shouldn't either.

I know Russian/Soviet mentality better then Trump or you that’s a fact.

Lynn,

You usually post some provocative stuff and this one falls into that category. I usually side with you on many issues but others and I asked about the statement you posted "How can this be a win" for the orange one?

Your answers are not up to your usual par. "Whatever" and "he knows more than we do" don't cut it.

Not throwing stones here. What good can come out of admitting Putin into the G-7? The term "useful idiot" comes to mind. Russia wants to retake its place on the world stage that was lost with the collapse of the USSR. In Crimea, he has shown what he is capable of doing. Remember there were no markings on the uniforms or tanks? Plausible deniability?

Trump had nothing to do with the Russians influencing our elections, true; however the DID influence our elections and are doing so right now. It is something we all should be concerned about. And, yes, we should not be trying to influence other country's elections either.

I'm sure you do, 11:08; I can just tell.

@1:18--I think I answered this above. However, it falls under the category of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. Putin needs to hear first-hand what these countries think about him and what he did by invading Crimea. You can't negotiate squat unless you are in the same room.

I’m glad you agree 1:41; thank you sir.

If we influenced their elections in Ukraine, why wouldn't they influence our elections? That's called payback!

Lynn Anderson said...

@6:22--don't think we interfered in Ukraine elections...it was the other way around.

No Lynn, it was John McCain and Democratic Senator Chris Murphy. He interfered in the pro-fascist election in Ukraine in 2014. That's not a secret, but a well known fact. He had the pro-Russian government overthrown in a coup. So maybe that's why Trump didn't like him. Don't be fooled by the Ukrainians.
