Last Minute Re-Write of SB 10 - Everglades Water Resources


Sen. Rob Bradley, R-Fleming Island, on Tuesday filed an amendment to Senate Bill 10, Water Resources, that he and Senate President Joe Negron, R-Stuart say "furthers the goal of reducing and eventually eliminating harmful discharges from Lake Okeechobee."

“I promised my constituents that we would dramatically expand southern storage by leveraging existing water infrastructure, and utilizing a combination of state, local, and private land, in a manner that respects the interests of the agricultural community and private land owners,” said Negron. “This legislation will ensure we achieve that goal and provide measurable results in a reasonable amount of time.”

When asking Drew Martin, he said, "I think that we must purchase land south of the lake and move water south or we will continue to destroy our estuaries.  This water always flowed south before the lake was altered and the land south of the lake was drained."

Judging from this blog, nobody ever comments about the Everglades Posts, or maybe they just think it's over their heads. News Flash! The Everglades is far more important than your lousy hotel, all of you survivalists with weeds and overgrown trees covering your houses. Where would you be if you hadn't found Lake Worth to hide out in where you could live like pigs, and nobody with any authority to evict you.
