"The number of sanctuary cities has exploded since July, when the issue came into the national spotlight after a young woman was gunned down by an illegal criminal immigrant on a pier on San Francisco.
In July, there were 276 sanctuary cities and counties. Now there are 340, according to a new report by the Center for Immigration Studies citing data from the Department of Homeland Security.
Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at CIS and author of the report, said the reckless actions of these cities and counties have resulted in the release of an average of 1,000 criminal aliens per month."

lake worth fl was on national news for being a sanctuary city--one of the worse and our mayor doing nothing about it--she rather see what she can make on corrupt beach deal--along with scott
I have e-mailed our Mayor and Commissioners about this- Scot Maxwell replied (at least he replied) that Mike Bornstein couldn't find any meeting where Lake Worth was declared a sanctuary city. (What a surprise,this city couldn't find it's butt with both hands) So I reply that we don't care HOW it happened, just make it known that Lake Worth is NOT a sanctuary city.
The silence from Mayor Pam Triolo, Commissioners Maxwell, Mcvoy, Maier and Amoroso has been deafening.
Lake Worth never declared itself a Sanctuary city. But what probably happened was when a former commission was in office--Jeff Clemens, Cara Jennings and Jo-Ann, leased ($1 a year) our shuffleboard building to the Mentoring Center that catered to the illegals. The idea was to have a place for them to get picked up for day labor and get them off the streets otherwise we were going to have all sorts of federal issues kicking them off our city streets and stopping the loitering. You see how that worked out. It drove thousands of them to our city. This is about the same time that organizations discovered that we were catering to illegal immigration and had a labor center for illegals, etc. We then got placed on the list.
