Comment Up
UPDATE:
Read about it... at the Palm Beach Post.  Commissioner Valeche said that John Prince Park not on the list of possible sites for a Spring training site--it was off a month ago.

The Palm  Beach County Board of Commissioners is conducting its first night meeting.  A couple of Lake Worth residents attended.  Let us know how it went and what your public commentary was about..

Pam Bergsma, myself and a couple of others went to the County Commission meeting this evening. Pam spoke against the park . After she spoke, Commissioner Hal Valeche said that he was on the selection committee investigating stadium sites and he assured everyone that John Prince Park was not on the list. "A non-starter", per Valeche.I didn't have to speak, and I thanked the Commission. Very good news for everyone in the county !!! Katie Mcgiveron

I am so personally happy about this news however I'm always very concerned when it comes to any political figure.

I hope that this news is so true and we no longer have to worry about a natural habitat being destroyed I'm still reserved that it may still be a possibility.

I thank everyone that understand that the Green Space of John Prince Park is as important as the Green Space of any Metropolitan area.

We must save what green space we have and it is so very disappointing when the
very artisan's that support unity and nature are the same that are willing to give it up so easily, however so many are willing to stand up and say NO.

God bless the public that understand that nature and art our united and are a "Live Together" FORM for much of the inspiration that is ART.

Note to Lake Worth Commission- And it's one, two, three strikes you're out at the old ball game!

The most telling statement of the Post article is: "But Lake Worth officials have said they’re confident John Prince Park can still be considered." Do you see the arrogance we the people have to deal with here? These people are rude and don't give a crap about anyone who is not in agreement with their agenda. Aren't you embarrassed that you ever voted for them to begin with? Aren't you disgusted that no one ever ran against them?

Note to Lynn, Katie, and the gang. Lynn sorry you missed the end of the meeting tonight, you missed the City Attorney announce that Laurals lawsuit was dropped by the planntiffs, so we might have lost on the ball field, a major win for Lake Worth on this...............

It's hard to fight corruption and a commission who could care less about an election. You still can't build higher than 45 feet and the suit can come back.

A lot of people got worked up over JPP as a site and a lot of wasted energy on both sides. It was never going to happen with the deed restrictions.

That was said the very first night by Tripp Cioci at city hall and consequently ridiculed by the other blogger. We knew that.

However, you NEVER know what politicians might do or be able to do behind the scenes. the dais managed to flip Vana and who knows what Maxwell, Bornstein or Triolo were doing.

This actually was no waste of time. I learned a lot from this incident and will carry the lessons forward for so many reasons.

1. Its ok to not be in the majority
2. Defending your neighborhood is not always pretty or easy but the end of the day we did what was right for us.
3. Learned that Diversity in this town only means if you agree with or not agree with the majority
4. Learned that a friend may be the person you did not thing is and learned that the enemy could be the person smiling right in your face.

I learned a lot about my own humanity, anger and the true colors of a lot of people in this town. This directly impacts how I personally move forward and will be reflected in my daily commitments to my neighborhood and making it the best it can be.

Listen much more closely to what the needs of the Residents that I represent are saying and not jump into anything with out careful consideration.

This one event taught me a very special lesson of which will never forget. Will be around and see everyone about town....For one I'm very happy the whole thing happened from the one point of what I have learned from this.

Best Wishes - Robert Waples

To the anonymous poster who just attempted to post here, it was rejected because it was the typical name calling by an anonymous poster against a citizen who has the courage to use his own name.
