This is the mess the debt ceiling is paying for. It’s debt, not money for new spending... Boehner voted for all of the spending of the BUSH era because deficits didn’t seem to matter... until they drove the debt to astronomical levels.
Let's review the Breakdown of the 81.2% Increase in National Debt under Bush, shall we?
$5.871 Trillion in 2OO1 $10.640 Trillion in 2OO8
$ 4.769 Trillion Increase (81.2% Increase in National Debt)
44% Increase in National Debt Under Obama:
$10.569 Trillion Jan 31st 2OO9 $15.223 Trillion Jan 14th 2O12
$ 4.659 Trillion Increase (44.1% Increase in National Debt)
Increase Since 2001 = $15.223 - $5.871 = $9.532 Trillion
Bush's PERCENTAGE of increase $4.769 Trillion/$9.532 Trillion = 50%
THE BUSH BIG "BUT":
$3.56 Trillion or 76% (3.56/4.659) of the increase was Bush CARRY OVER:
$910 Billion = Interest on BUSH Debt 2009/2011
$360 Billion = BUSH Iraq War Spending 2009/2011
$319 Billion = BUSH TARP/Bailout Balance from 2008 (as of May 2010)
$419 Billion = Bush Recession Caused Drop in taxes
$190 Billion = Bush Medicare Drug Program 2009/2011
87.4% of National Debt Increase was caused By Bush's spending programs (2001 to 2012)
12.6% of Increase was caused by Obama’s spending programs.
During his tenure Bush grew the federal employee numbers by 82%. Obama has overseen a reduction of federal workers, while reducing the rate of deficit increase by $400 billion over the last two years... the steepest decline in history.
Whether you like him or not, Forbes rated Obama as the most frugal president since Eisenhower.
NOT ACCORDING TO THE WASHINGTON POST-- Far from the most frugal president of the past 60 years, in terms of average annual spending, it would be more accurate to say that Obama is the BIGGEST spender of this period.
Washington Post Fact-Checker Glenn Kessler gave Carney three Pinocchios for his use of Nutting’s column, writing that Carney “might do better next time than cite an article he plucked off the Web. The data in the article are flawed, and the analysis lacks context—context that could easily could [sic] be found in the budget documents released by the White House.”

You Dems love to twist the truth.
Lynn in a later post you said " I am a lifetime democrat" So I guess your twisted mind is where we all need to visit.
Then you probably missed where I said that I vote for the person NOT the Party.
Now, getting a comment such as yours shows who is twisted and who is not.
Get some sleep, will ya?
