The Petition and the Lake Worth downtown area

Comment Up
The Initiative of RPPAC is to amend the Charter building height limits in the designated downtown area, with exceptions. The map below shows the section of the downtown that the Respectful Planning Political Action Committee is petitioning to get on the November ballot. The area is 45 feet between Golfview Road and F Street and 35 feet between F Street and A Street with a southern boundary of 1st Avenue South; northern boundary of 2nd Avenue North; western boundary of A Street North and South; and an eastern boundary of Golfview Road North and South, providing exceptions for existing buildings and already approved building permits.

If you want to help get signatures or sign the petition, please call Carolyn Deli at 586-4999 or call me at 585-7839.

I don't see any of the former P&Z board working for their own cause. Curious that.

At 11:12am: YOU ARE SO WRONG!

Spread your lies & hate on "the other website" -perhaps you already have.

Just because people are not out front & shouting, doesn't mean they are not involved & working hard to help make things happen. Some people are more subtle (& smarter) than others. I know 4 previous board memebers are actively involved & 3 others are supporters.

Listen to June P&Z meeting where everyone on board was appalled & disgusted with 3/2 commission vote to dismiss their recommendations.

I won't name names (either way) but someone who supported the Big 3 had an "eye opening" experience to realize years of non-partisan work on P&Z board was thrown to the curb in the name of "we're right & they're wrong no matter what."

Bully politics of the elite are now in charge, for sure. But kinder, gentler populist views are not to be to be taken lightly. Esp in Lake Worth.

See: David v. Goliath.

Every member of the P&Z Board spoke in favor of the referendum. Every member of the P&Z spoke against 65' tall buildings east of 95.
The highest building height east of 95 agreed upon at the Tri-Meeting in January by the P&Z, HRPB, and CC was 55' for the downtown train station.
The consensus for east of Federal on Lake/Lucerne was 45'.
At the June 22 CC workshop the heights were increased by the Commission.

so let them raise the heights, as stated before there are 3 or 4 parcels of land that could be used to build to that height, and bring in a much needed Hotel, and or parking garage, It is not like the whole of the city will be 45 to 65 feet high, unless you want to belive the crap that Mulvehil, and her croonies are trying to pass off. I have lived here for more than 20 years, and I have not seen the builders beating each other up to try and take over Lake Worth

anon at 8:30 am. I( can not agree more, this is nothing more than a political ploy for Mulvehil to be saying she tried to save Lake Worth, almost as well as she protected the people at the Casino

The only people playing GOD and being political are Maxwell, Triolo and Amoroso.

The P&Z Board recommended lower heights. Everyone I have spoken to wants a small rise city. Even Mulvehill's opponent is in support of the PAC and is petitioning.

As far as the Casino is concerned, STAFF screwed our long-term tenants, not Mulvehill. You can only do so much when you are a minority vote working with power grabbers.

So take your political BS to that other blog.

Mulvehil was in the majority when the Casino Project was started, and the tenants were still thrown out while the Rehab (tear down) was done.....
