Parrilla receives Lake Worth Hero of the Year Award

Comment Up

The first recipient of this distinguished honor for service to the community is Mark Parrilla, President of the Genesis Neighborhood Association.

The event, held behind the property at 1000 Lake Avenue, was underwritten by the CRA, the City of LAKE WORTH and other organizations. It seemed that the event fell on the hottest day of the year. Great hotdogs, chips and soda were served...all for free...and all for the purpose of honoring many of those who help others in our community in so many ways, giving back every day!

Thanks to those who were honored and for all that you do.

The no-committee winner was kicked off the Community Relations Board because of vulgar shouting, disrespectful insulting of residents,(public knowledge, ask a local attorney) reason for closing down that Board!
What have ALL Lake Worth Citizens benefitted by action of this nominee? Ingratitude is an ugly trait. Is there a subversive current that wants to suppress those who contributed major acts that are beneficial to all?
Life is the best teacher.
Enjoy the new Commission majority! Never have I seen such a low level!

Mark's heart and his mouth sometimes conflict with each other. He admits that many of his past outbursts have been political. I believe that he now is calming down and smelling the roses.

Some of us are more passionate about issues than others. It is because of his passion and his overall good heart that was recognized and rewarded yesterday to become the first Lake Worth Hero.

Mark is great and does a lot for the city, he cares, so does Mary Lindsey, she does so much, surprised she didn't win, she should too. I hate all these awards though, competition is futile. There are way too many volunteers in this city that do so much and no one ever knows they are even doing this, much more than Mark or many of them. Egos are always running high here, way too many egos in this city. Congrats to all volunteers here, you are all heros.

I would like to know who actually got the most votes.

Congratulations to Mark and all of our Lake Worth Heros. Without all of the people in this city who volunteer, we would have a much less attractive city than we do today. Again ,thanks to all of our heros! Katie Mcgiveron

I would like to know all who were nominated for this too. Mary should have won she does a lot for this city and she always goes unrecognized.

Amazing! He is the most selfish, self serving, nasty person. All about Mark and what he can get. Not a man of conviction.
