Several years ago when that "tall tales" other blogger, (he's so tall that he reaches up to the right hand of God) whose sole job is to nit pick and chastise city hall for one thing or another and to back candidates that have no job even being dog catcher, lost his election to Jo-Ann Golden, he touted instant run-off elections. He talked about this frequently. You see, he had the most votes in the primary, similar to the Ramiccio/Waterman situation today. He never got over losing that election and has attacked Commissioner Golden at every opportunity. I would bet that now he is singing a different tune since he supports Ramiccio, just, well, because. He used to have a "handle" truth matters but dropped that long ago when he decided that it didn't fit.
I have always been against instant run-off elections even though they do save a municipality money. A local election should have a winner with over 50% of the vote. To have a candidate declared the winner with a minority of the votes, would not serve democracy.
Whichever candidate wins or loses on July 12, over 50% is the only result that makes sense. Everyone can thank Rene Varela for this. Maybe we can make a resolution and send him the bill.
Now there is a group of activists that would like to see plurality voting. Read about it HERE.
And no, they are not "anarchists." Nor is it the "other blogger." Well, maybe it is as his normal MO (method of operation) is to bite his teeth into something and never let it go.

I had to mention Wes in this blog as he took so much time developing a very funny parody video with me as one of the main subjects. I must be getting to them. Thanks, Wes.
FYI: Some things that people tend to forget.
10 President's with less than 50% of the vote.
1) John Quincy Adams 30.5%
2) Abraham Lincoln 39.8%
3) Woodrow Wilson 41.9%
4) William Clinton 42.9%
5) Richard Nixon 43.4%
6) James Buchanan 45.3%
7) Grover Cleveland 46.1%
8) Zachary Taylor 47.4%
9) George Bush 47.8%
10) Benjamin Harrison 47.9%
The Electoral College decided it I presume.
When Al Gore should have won-
George W. Bush (Republican)
50,456,002 popular votes
271 electoral votes
Albert A. Gore (Democrat)
50,999,897 popular votes
266 electoral votes
Ralph Nader (Green Party)
2,882,955 popular votes
0 electoral votes
I agree. It has to be a majority. On another side, will someone please agree with Wes that the casino is a demolition so that he will shut the hell up. It would be appreciated. Thank you.
The definition of demolition:
de·mol·ish (d-mlsh)
tr.v. de·mol·ished, de·mol·ish·ing, de·mol·ish·es
1. To tear down completely; raze.
2. To do away with completely; put an end to.
So, Wes can continue on with his blogs about it. He is a planner, afterall.
Sometimes experience is not enough.
Although the video was to mock, it shows their desperation. What a joke. Wes, you are starting to sound like your candidate, the broken record Ramiccio. What were your reasons for supporting him again? Something that made sense of that we are all positive.
Helen M.
I think he stated his reasons but I forget what they are. He probably does too.
