Amendment to Budget

On Tuesday, the City will hold a public meeting in order to adopt an amendment to its Budget for 2010/2011.

The interesting numbers given are:

$29,912,652 total revenues & Other Financing Sources.
Out of this total figure, only $5,523,468 comes from Ad Valorem taxes and $10,162,405 will come from Lake Worth Utilities.

Out of our total revenues, we will spend $19,013,189 for public safety. Public Safety equals 63.56% of the budget.

This is something for all of you to think about as you cheer PBSO at all costs as well as the unsustainable Union benefits across the board (police is now over 26% and fire at 172% of payroll).
