Message from Senator Rick Scott
Dear Fellow Floridian,Like many of you, Ann and I are still completely heartbroken by the tragic loss of our good friend and fellow patriot, Charlie Kirk. This is a devastating loss for his wife, Erika, and their two precious kids, and the millions, including myself, who felt the impact of Charlie’s work and were inspired by his devotion to God and his beliefs.
Charlie was a good man – a devout husband, father, and friend – whose life was shaped by his faith and the idea that in America, debate and discussion are crucial to the betterment of our country. He dedicated his life to the idea that the power of our ideas can not only win the day, but start a movement. That’s exactly what he did.
Charlie was taken from us in a disgusting act of political violence on September 10, 2025, but his legacy lives on. He inspired us. He inspired me every time I spoke to him. And now, each of us has the opportunity to carry on his memory by believing in the power of our ideas, discussion, and the values of our nation.
Last week, I had the opportunity to lead and unanimously pass in the Senate my resolution with Congressman Jimmy Patronis to designate October 14, 2025 – Charlie’s birthday – as “National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk” to honor his life as we continue to come together to pray for his family and celebrate his impact on the great nation.
I was also honored to attend Charlie's memorial to pay tribute to the life he lived, the man he was, and the legacy he built. May we all keep Erika and the entire Kirk family in our prayers, and may we continue to practice the ideas Charlie preached—to love our families, live by our faith, and stand by our ideas.
Sincerely,
Rick Scott, United States Senator

will the Senate pass this? Too many Democrats there who are hateful and happy this happened
I heard today that Charlie Kirk lived in a 6 million dollar mansion and that he lived very well similar to like how Joel Osteen lives they sure do make a lot of money and live high on the hog and they're supposed to be preaching Jesus Christ and his ministry but it doesn't sound like they lived that way however!
Charlie Kirk is the American Dream until some crazy person killed him. Check out this You Tube.

How is someone "the American Dream?" Someone can live "the American Dream" for sure but how can someone be "The American Dream?"
Did your cut and paste short circuit, oh wise one? lol
Charlie Kirk personified the American Dream through hard work
Preaching and using God? I'll put Billy Graham on a pedestal over him, but honestly only Jesus was humble and righteous! It is all about making a lot of money more than anything else, prosperity ministers like Joel Osteen millionaires.
@3:45...luckily millions of us are not as cynical as you. Charlie started out with no money even sleeping in his car. He had a dream and worked hard, giving talks, writing books and started Turning Point USA, an American nonprofit organization.
