Drowning at the beach in Lake Worth Beach

"LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A 17-year-old boy has succumbed to his injuries after drowning in a riptide Saturday.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) deputies say the two other boys stuck in the riptide, a 12-year-old and a 17-year-old survived the prolonged period underwater and in the hospital, alert, and in stable condition.

At 2:09 p.m., deputies responded to the drowning at a beach near the 3000 block of S Ocean Blvd in Lake Worth Beach.

Upon arrival, deputies were informed that three swimmers were caught in a riptide.

Lake Worth Beach Lifeguards and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue were able to save the swimmers, perform CPR, and transport the boys to the hospital, according to a news release."[WPEC-12]
