Trump-Justice Roberts Hot Mic Exchange Ignites Media Firestorm
March 5, 2025, after a brief hot mic exchange with Chief Justice John Roberts during Trump’s address to Congress sparked widespread speculation and conspiracy theories.During the joint session of Congress on March 4, Trump was caught on microphone telling Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, “Thank you again, I won’t forget it,” setting off a flurry of media speculation about what the president was expressing gratitude for.
Many media outlets immediately connected the remarks to the Supreme Court’s July 2024 ruling in Trump v. United States, which granted former presidents immunity from prosecution for official acts performed during their presidency.
On Wednesday, the president took to his Truth Social platform to address what he characterized as unfounded speculation.
“They never called my office to ask, of course, but if they had I would have told these sleazebag ‘journalists’ that I thanked him for SWEARING ME IN ON INAUGURATION DAY, AND DOING A REALLY GOOD JOB IN SO DOING! The Fake News never quits!” Trump wrote.

Stock market down 890 for the day!!!! Trump's economy.....
The market always goes up and down. Today was the biggest weekly percentage drop since September under Biden. In 2022, Wall Street suffered its worst year since the 2008-'09 financial crisis amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It's a reset...not to worry. It will come back. Hold on to your investment in the market.
Donuts for brains like 5:19 kill me! For 4 years Donut thought Joe Biden was the greatest president ever and that his economy was the greatest ever! One month in and one market fluctuation and IT'S TRUMPS ECONOMY !!!! What an idiot. I plan on buying up all the Tesla stock I can afford!! It's an incredible bargain now.
Not so fast, Democrats. Yes, Trump's tariffs and mass layoffs are wrecking the economy. But he got these ideas over the prior two years. When Biden was president.
@8:06...don't quite understand the comment. Trump initiated tons of tariffs during his first term in order to get some sort of a trade balance. China was the biggest culprit for the trade deficit, $343 billion) and in all, it amounted to trillions of the total from various countries. At the time when he first intitiated his tariff, the market went down. Nothing new about the market. It goes up and it goes down.
