Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) was indicted Wednesday
on 13 federal charges for allegedly misleading donors, misrepresenting his finances to the public and government agencies, and engaging in wire fraud, money laundering, and theft of public funds.I have to wonder why it took so long and how he got elected in the first place.
Santos pleaded not guilty Wednesday afternoon and was released on a $500,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 30 before U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert.
He has rejected calls for his resignation from the House, and House Republican leader, Kevin McCarthy
