Chuck Schumer Says Democrats Will Lose House Majority Soon
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) warned his fellow senators that House Democrats will lose their majority in the upcoming midterm elections — directly contradicting recent remarks from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).The admission came during a private dinner on Monday with six other Democratic senators at an Italian restaurant on Capitol Hill, per Punchbowl News.
Schumer reportedly told senators that Pelosi is “in danger” and Democrats will lose their House majority after the midterms.
The 71-year-old told his colleagues that if the midterm elections were held today, there was “a 60% chance we hold the Senate and a 40% chance we hold the House.”
