Letters to the Editor - Don't destroy John Prince Park for greed

Don’t ruin park for profit

Please don’t let John Prince Park be ruined by greed and tax revenues for Lake Worth, which may or may not come through. The city of Lake Worth doesn’t even own the park. The county owns it. When did the laws of this county and state allow Lake Worth and the County Commission to sell off close to a quarter of the park? And who is going to benefit from this? It won’t be the residents in this area. If they really want to do this, let them build it on the Palm Beach State College property. Or the old hospital property on Lantana Road east of Interstate 95. Please listen to the people and not the money interests.

RICHARD WILMOTH, LANTANA

Song says it all; don’t destroy park

To quote Joni Mitchell, “We don’t know what we’ve got till it’s gone. They paved paradise and put in a parking lot.” Describes the proposed sale of John Prince Park to developers to build a baseball stadium.
