She had me until she said Lake Worth was "proposing" the 60 day minimum stay. Sort of like Lake Worth is a "low rise" community right? (with building over 100 feet tall since the 1920's)

Is this the Lynn Anderson institute of double speak?

Another excellent business operating under the radar in Lake Worth. I will refer people to them in the future.

Not for this at all, anonymous...no double speak here--only what you want to make-up.

For the other IDIOT calling me a racist pig, I write this blog, not any other blog. I am accountable for what I write, not anyone else. Thanks for your love...I can feel it from here. Even the biggest scum bags in the world might have some valid points from time to time--not you though.

Dear Gail-Lake Worth is not PROPOSING 60 day rentals-that is ALREADY our law.Lake Worth can be grandfathered in because we ALREADY have this rule in place. It is 60 days, or no rules. We might like to give people the option of 2 week stays, but the state of Florida says we don't have that option. We enforce our 60 day-or chaos. And Gail ,I'm so glad YOU follow the rules, but MOST DO NOT!!! We have already had problems in the Lake Osborne neighborhood with a women who owned several homes, and she was trying to rent her Lake Osborne drive home BY THE NIGHT!!! Yes Gail, there was a huge neon pink ROOMS FOR RENT sign by the side of the road.In these tough economic times, I would love to start baking cakes and cookies and selling them out of my home, along with coffee to go. But I can't.My home is in a single family neighborhood. It is not a restaurant. Those of us that chose not to live next door to hotels deserve some consideration.Katie Mcgiveron

You can rent a house in the Keys for the same price, even less and be right on the water. We trailer our boat, drop it in at the ramp and pull up next to the rental on a canal, beautiful ocean and gulf views, clean water, great fishing, restaurants, bars and 30 minutes from Key West. Were sad every time we leave to comeback to Lake Worth, I cant believe that people come from outta state to rent a home one mile from the beach. Maybe we should rent our house and stay in the Keys, 3 more years till retirement, gonna look into this.

I am familiar with these cottages and (1) they are quite charming and very well kept and (2) they are basically in the heart of downtown.

I did appreciate her perspective, but while her business may not be harming anyone those of us who don't live in downtown may not want to live next to a hotel.

The City has to enforce its 60 day rules or we could have homes in our single family neighborhoods rented out by the night or week and those of us who live here don't want that.
