Commissioner Amoroso "knocks" past commission

Comment Up
A Wes Blackman YouTube video

Listen to the love fest of commissioner Andy Amoroso giving himself and the rest of the present commission kudos for all sorts of improvements in Lake Worth...sounds like a campaign speech.  At 2:45 he says, "Past commissions didn't believe in Code and didn't believe in policing."

How can Mr. Amoroso, a man who seldom ever attended commission meetings until he was running for commissioner back in 2011, make a statement like that with a straight face?  Even if he believes it, and it would be difficult to imagine, why is slum and blight so prevalent within our city?  Why are heinous crimes continuing? What has he done about it over the past 16 months he has been in office?

Our elected officials need to do better than throwing erroneous stones and playing the blame game.

"First of all I'd like to APOLOGIZE for Mr. Timm? WTF is up w/that? We need to apologize for a Uninformed of the meaning of HIS OATH Rep D#3! Forgive Andy - he is clueless about the property rights and individual liberties Mr. Tim was speaking of! Andy - you are spending TAX MONEY and you have NOT gotten permission from We the People! The CRA through TIF Funds deprive US of our Tax $$ to perform the proper role of government! Put EVERY DOLLAR under the control and expressed desire of the electorate! You are not Santa - none of our reps are and to regurgitate the Agenda for the 21st century FORCING FAILED IDEAS ON US IS unacceptable!

What Kool-Aid did he drink to make him ever think he was the decider? Dear God what did we all do before our saviors got elected?

WE THE PEOPLE pay for all these Bright Ideas they learn about in 'travel and education funds'!

These commissioners are just way to arrogant for their own good. Can you imagine apologizing for one of our more informed citizens? What an azz.

In what alternative universe do you imbeciles live in that you consider Timm one of the more informed citizens? I guess to a bunch of loser know nothings he's well informed.
Andy Amoroso was well informed by the very same people that are now trashing him on this blog. The only difference is that before you all were bashing him he was hanging Drautz, Jennings, Golden and Mulvehill signs in his store window.
Now that he's learned they are all useless and pointless you attack him. Makes no sense unless you consider the sources.

amorossa says they didnt believe in code --he is right and they still cant do their job---just look at the city --what is the difference andy--stop the bull cramp that comes out of that uneducated mouth

what do you expect from andy --he knew that dylan harrison was under investigation for what he is going to prison for on april 26th--he took money from him knowing 100% what was happening--keep up the good work andy because you should not be representing our city after things you have been doing

3:35 What do you mean?

do you notice that the same people always show up to these meetings--and very few vote in this city--and we wonder why things never change its because the people that show up to theses meeting never change--if lawmakers would sit in these meeting--they would call a state of emergency

@3:59--Thanks once again for putting down citizen with an opinion and one who might disagree with you. I don't recall Amoroso EVER hanging those signs in his window. If he hung any political signs, he made a big mistake as he does represent ALL OF THE PEOPLE HERE. At least he should. Hanging a Golden sign is great stuff, anonymous!!!!

@4:24--the city chamber only holds around 84. We get over 3,000 people voting in March elections. I don't think those who attend meetings are what's holding up the city. It is those who DO NOT show up and do NOT get informed that cause the problems and get fooled by lies and banners:)

You have to board up properties with your own money because the commission raided the Foreclosure fund to get rid of the assessment. Now they're hoarding the money in the general fund so they can pay PBSO the expected increase, instead of negotiating hard with them. This commission just rolls over and wants to have their tummies scratched by PBSO, unions, developers. They have no interest in working hard to make things better, like the prior commissioners that they poor mouth. Dumb and lazy, this crew.

Sadly what you say IS true
and is happening more often
than most people know! The
reps write words on paper
and assume the problem is
solved! The target is there
but in reality the money:

that is right watch the money--it will bring out the evil in them---and their corrupt side--it always does--keep a close eye on them
