President of Neighborhood Council Threatens sanction on Waterman

Comment Up
Now comes Ryan Anderson, president of TRNA and the Neighborhood Council who has taken exception to Mayor Waterman's remarks regarding the environment at his TRNA forum. He is threatening to dis-invite her to the Lake Worth Playhouse debate because she has canceled her invitations to the rest of the neighborhood association debates.

Can anyone have the right to free speech, even Waterman? Can anyone express an opinion in Lake Worth anymore?

The NA Council president is doing exactly to Waterman what she has been accused of doing to the public. Is one individual more right than the other?

Lynn, I am not sure where you are getting your facts, but I believe they may be incorrect. To the best of my knowledge, Ryan Anderson has not threatened to disinvite Ms, Waterman to the LW Playhouse debate. Some members of the NAPC are reconsidering their individiual decisions on the subject and want the entire council to discuss the situation. That is very different from one individual taking action. I know you want to present correct facts on this issue so maybe you should contact your neighborhood association president or Mr. Anderson directly.

Mrs. Waterman is aware that the Presidents’ Council is an independent organization made up of the leaders of each Lake Worth Neighborhood Association that she’s libeling in her email to the Palm Beach Post. The only difference is that there will be a larger audience. Unfortunately, Mrs. Waterman’s email has spurred the Council’s desire to revisit the status of her invitation to this debate. Personally I feel that it would be a shame not to have her in attendance but statements such as hers are not taken as lightly by all Council members. I’m hoping the NAPC can determine a course of action by sometime next week

By merely saying the above, Ryan gave a veiled threat to sanction her by the NA Council.

In all fairness Lynn a precieved veiled threat is not a threat.I read that response by Ryan and took away a very different feeling. My sense was that he personally would want the Mayor to attend. However there are other members to consider who may have another view.

Whatever, PMM. Ryan had some heavy words there. It sounds like Rachel annoyed him and now it's "get even time." Put the threat out there whether he endorses it or not...other members do, WHATEVER. Please. Are we all stupid here? The NA would lose all credibility if they dis-invited her. Let her attend whatever forum she chooses. She made a mistake not to attend th other two. She is the mayor and it will be her mistake to bear. Let's get over this childness from everyone involved. Get on with it. Free world.

It most certainly is a veiled threat. He used subtle intimidation
here. He is the president of the NA Council and therefore has a lot of power. If you can't see that, P.M.M above, put on your glasses.

The playhouse debate is the only good one every year. If she wants to attend this one, what's the problem? So what if she hurt someone's feelings at Tropical Ridge. Tropical did a whole lot more damage to her than she did to it by allowing one hour of hitting her to the groin so that its members could have a jolly good time. It was pretty sick. I can also understand why Ryan thought he could not direct the comments from Dustin to something of substance. It is difficult to be a moderator. I will always remember that crazy old guy Jordan and what he did to Mary and Cara.

There is not problem....If she does not attend it will be by her choosing....This looks like an ugly rumor that would have been started by Watermans Camp. Lynn, please fact check this with Ryan and I'm sure you will find that this is NOT the case.

Looks like the games are going to begin and Waterman/Zacks are the ones that are going to be slinging the mud.

I have my glasses on and I know that it's the residents who make up the neighborhood association that have the power not one individual. The administration is beginning to make the NAs the bad guys when in reality they offer a voice for the people in a time when they need to be heard the most.

Maybe Waterman will change her mind and attend afterall. She should come prepared to take the Zack Crap. Zacks will look the fool and Waterman will win.

If the truth about her finances upset her. Wait till the rest of the skeletons in her closet come out..

Hope the council does not take out retribution and allows her to speak.
