Occupy Lake Worth organizers simply took over our Bryant Park and bandshell without a permit and some marched down Lake Avenue without legal permission.In fact, they didn't even bother to apply for a permit...that didn't even cross their anarchist minds. "Who us? Get a permit? You must be kidding." They did remember the bullhorn, however. Insolence at its finest.
The organizers want to shut down our economy and bring their socialistic message to the entire world and have no use even for our local laws or the people who reside here. It's our park. Next time, any of you who are there whose minds are still functioning properly, tell them to get the heck off of our park. Take that bullhorn away from Ana and Cara and give the crowd your own message.

Some of their ideas are on the right track, it is true that our government is giving into big business which ends up hurting us the people, the corporate greed is out of control and our government puts no control on this, we pay for a lot, but all of this is due to ineffective government. We need election campaign finance overhaul, not allowing big business to give so much money to campaigns making them beholding to business, but citizens as a whole. Overall, these people have a right to speak out, they have some good messages, but they need to do it the right way, although I am afraid it is going to increase and get worse as the economy worsens. They really need to take it to Washington DC to the Whitehouse and Congress for change, they have it all wrong, instead of going to Wall Street, they need to go to the US Capital. Did these people get permits to do all of this in NYC in the parks there Lynn? Never vote for incumbents and change our government, that is what needs to change, you cannot trust any politicians, our law enforcement, or Uncle Sam nowadays, people are angry and with great reason.

I agree. Some of the complaints are legitimate. Some of the messages are felt by all of us. And I agree with you, go to Washington. There lies the problem.
Michael, I agree with you too about not having faith in our law enforcement in this country, with so many illegals just prancing around so freely here in the sancuary city called Lake Worth and our own PBSO cannot clean this up is wrong, all illegals need to be shipped back and be told to come back the right way, how can we respect our government and law enforcement when our law enforcement just does not enforce laws much or say they can't at certain levels, this is a bunch of bull Lynn, I am not buying it. Our government continues to allow all these illegals and this to fester without doing a darn thing about it. I cannot respect my government or law enforcement because of this.
This country is broke and wacky LW gets a $23.2 million federal grant from Obama, if LW and other communities want to “stabilize their neighborhoods” let them pay for it themselves. Why don’t we give everyone an interest free mortgage or for that matter why not a free house, why should anyone work today. This country is going to hell in a hand basket before our very eyes. Maybe LW can get all the wall street protestors to help construct these residences, that won’t happen it would require manual labor on their part.

We have Pantyioti Tsolkas handing out flyers that say "VOTE OR OCCUPY" and he has stated at public comment at a commission meeting that we should give the illegal immigrants the right to Vote. What an illustrious member of the Community Relations Board. This City has litterally gone to "pot" or a least the CRB has for sure. Maybe the next CRB meeting will be held at the Kava Bar and they will pass the peace pipe.

I was downtown on Sat. and saw the occupy folks at Bryant Park. I didn't see anyone marching or blocking traffic. While I don't necessarily agree with all the points of Occupy, the issue of corporate control of our government process, wage and wealth inequality, consolidation of wealth, democracy, bailing out corproations, etc. are ideas that I'm happy to see people raising. For too long, the vast majority of the public has seemed to be numb, I think its great that folks are getting energized and engaged in these issues.
The issue of permitting is a valid point. If you preempt a public space such that the general public can no longer use it, you are supposed to get a permit. Does this type of a gathering at the band shell qualify, I think technically yes, but since no one is normally using the band shell on Sat. a.m. are they really preempting it? You could same the same thing about the soccer pick up games, they preempt use of Bryant Park hence they should geta permit.
Lynn, it seems you are seeing the light on the current commissioners and our so-called mayor. They do have the evil intention of completely dismantaling our society. So... when are you going to officially endorse Pam and Andy? Your voice carries a lot of weight in LW and we all need to band together to get back on the right track -- i.e. the America we all remember and love.
No excuses here...no going around the law because someone "wasn't using it." They needed to apply for a permit. They didn't. End of story.
Do you think that socialists, communists, marxists, etc. ever want to work within laws? They want their OWN set of rules and the hell with you and me.
New World Order and we keep putting up with it in this City. Appointing two anarchists to city boards just shows how out of control this leadership is.

My voice carries little weight. This is just one opinion in the vast sea of opinions. There are some people who agree with me. I have one lady who constantly tells me that she loves my blog but there is always a caveat--I don't agree with you on everything. So, what you have are some who agree some of the time, and that's good enough.
Being a conservative in politics is difficult when you live in LW, a city that is predominately liberal and left of left at times.
As far as endorsements, all politicians are basically the same to me. I have been constantly disappointed and therefore will not back anyone. I just want a commission that will do its homework and stop being a puppet to the CM. May the best person win.
I agree with you about not endorsing anyone, in the past I allowed their signs on my property, but to be sorely disappointed after they got into office, all lies and once in they do not want to know you anymore, it has happened with almost all of them, so no more signs for me, may the best person win and may we get a better leader who can keep making this city great.
I just read the first (topmost) article in your recent blog. It was about the Occupy LW event that began in Bryant park. The article said these people took over the park, then marched up the street and used a bullhorn. They failed to get a permit. I thought this is a good blog. In favor of law and order. Just curious: Did you write this blog? Is this you speaking?

How do you know they didn't have a permit? Or how do you know they didn't get permission/clearance from the City such that they didn't need a permit?
Fair question. I checked with the City.
