Tom Sutterfield for School Board District 4

Comment Up

Now think about this for one minute, folks.  Why would the apple pie mom and Tom Sutterfield's opponent, Erica Whitfield, condone another attack ad against Tom? Her campaign must be in some sort of hot water as there were two polls taken last week and they were not conducted by Sutterfield.

You have to follow the do re me and look to see who might benefit for pouring all this money into a school board election... It's not Tom Sutterfield who works for the South Florida Water Management District who even personally funded his campaign with loans. It's not Tom Sutterfield's contributors who know that he volunteers (and has for over a decade), his time and expertise at a Charter school to help the school and its children. He doesn't even get paid to do this work.  It's not Tom Sutterfield who wants desperately to improve our entire public school system where one of his children is enrolled and a system that he is determined to make better for students, teachers and the taxpayer. School Rankings

Then why the attack ads?  He is portrayed as a "conservative" as if that is some dirty word.  Thank God for conservatives.  They watch the purse strings.  They are resourceful and work within a budget and fairly tackle the issues with common sense. The Palm Beach Post has confidence in Tom.  So does Boynton Beach mayor Jerry Taylor.  And so do thousands of people across District 4.

Don't let this sleazy flyer or the partisan robo call that you got yesterday affect you other than solidifying your support for Tom Sutterfield, the only candidate who has not resorted to negativity, who plays by the rules, a husband and a father who knows the value of an excellent education and is the only candidate with budgetary experience as well as oversight on construction. He is exactly what Palm Beach County needs and these are his priorities:
  • Establishing budget priorities and BALANCING the budget!!
  • Bringing taxpayer's dollars closer to the students, teachers and school administrators to make a substantial difference in the classroom
  • Being fiscally responsible
  • Ensure proper spending of taxpayer’s dollars
  • Working to ensure our children are provided with a safe school environment and that safety measures are being held to the highest standards
  • Strongly supporting music and art programs for our children
  • Bringing more technology to our students in the classroom

Vote for Tom Sutterfield on November 4.

This post is typical and predictable of how you roll Lynn. You cannot wait to bash people who support this commission. Lindsey, Materio, Robinson ring a bell. You coyly put out stories and watch for negative comments from your faithful. Now you bash Whitfield instead of supporting one of our own, who by the way is qualified and has a great record of service.

This is the only city in this country where you can not go against the status quo in any respect and support a different candidate or be on the other side of an issue without BS from some..
Erica has made the race partisan. She should not have done that.
I featured her early on as I did Tom but it was when she took that approach, she made it easy for me.
She may be qualified--I don't know that--but she never once reached out to me..he did.
I don't support people because they're from LW. That is not a requisite for support. Clemens is a prime example of that.

Please be clear, you are always 'on the other side of an issue"

OK--I'm not here to have an argument with you. Tell it to the PB Post who endorsed him. Thanks.
I don't like Obama either.

Thanks Lynn. I think you're right. He certainly does seem to be the best one for the job.

My question is: How is Whitfield qualified? People say she is qualified but no one says what those qualifications are. Has she managed a large number of employees? Has she managed and been responsible for a large budget (and I'm not talking about helping write a grant then using said grant money to pay her salary)? I have heard her speak on several occasions and all she talks about is the garden project, being a mom and, at one event, that she would like to get all of the board members together to sit and write grants. That, by the way, is not part of a school board members job! I have been waiting to hear a little substance from her but I just can't find it. And, quite frankly, I am appalled that anyone would suggest we vote for her because we live in the same city. Most people have more common sense than that and will look at the facts before casting the vote. I follow every election closely and vote with the person I feel is most qualified.

If the two candidates were equally qualified, I would vote for the candidate that follows the rules and would never vote for someone that has resorted to the negative attacks on their opponent. It seems a little desperate to me. And I also read the Palm Beach Post article and do not for one second believe that all of the attack mailers and robo calls were not known about beforehand. That is just not how politics works.

I have worked with Mr. Sutterfield on multiple boards and projects over the course of the last 10 years. His work has helped literally THOUSANDS of students. His budgeting expertice pulled a school out of financial emergency. With the help of his negotiation skills he was able to get teachers a raise totaling over $100,000 a year!
Tom's experience building major IT Networks will bring a much needed skill set to the school board.
Though this is a non-partisan race, information with party affiliation has been sent out to the public. Tom has shown endorsements from both sides of the political fence. What other candidate can say that?
Tom Sutterfield can't be bought and will ALWAYS work for the best interest of the students and teachers in Palm Beach County. It is rare someone will with Tom's credentials joins the political world. Take advantage of this good fortune and please cast your vote for Tom Sutterfield.

If you like Jeff Clemens then vote for Erica! They're working hand in hand. She knew what the mailers were going to say.
