ISIS evil spawned in Saudi Arabia
Truth is, not much has changed in Saudi Arabia when it comes to their barbaric ways for the past half century. And if you think about it, not much has changed since the Prophet Muhammad, a man who had close relationships with young boys half a millennium ago. The big differences are the result of the discovery of massive oil reserves, which has created incredible riches. And all of that took off when the United States made a deal with the Saudi devils in 1945.
Read this interesting article... from Personal liberty on our sick relationship with the Saudis (who are as evil as ISIS).
On November 12, 2013 the IEA announced that The U.S. will surpass Russia and Saudi Arabia as the world’s top oil producer by 2015, and be close to energy self-sufficiency in the next two decades, amid from shale formations. Read the article... at Bloomberg News. It's the politics that get you down.

Let's face it. Men are predators when it comes to women. I don't know too many attractive women who have not been seduced by their boss (not that they succumb mind you) and this boss happened to be good looking and the president of the United States, the most powerful man in the world for gosh sakes. She was young; she fell in love. Many of us were "in love" with Bill Clinton and fell in love with him from afar.

President Obama Overreach
Friday, the Obama administration announced
a new program (Haitian Family Reunification Parole Program) that will expedite the “family reunification” of U.S. citizens and
lawful permanent residents who have family members in Haiti by allowing
such immigrants whose family-based visa petitions have already been
approved come to the U.S. two years early as well as protected status for people from Honduras and Nicarauga.

PB County Commission votes to give away $108 million in bed tax

Baseball is that important to the County. On a 5/2 vote, with Abrams and Santamaria dissenting, the Palm Beach County Commission voted to give the Astros and Nationals $108 million plus soft costs of $5 million. They are now looking for another site in Palm Beach County.
What more can Shelley Vana do before she's term limited?

Lake Worth's New Strategy
Comment Up
Let's inform the people of what we want them to know--
Last night the city set out on a new course of action to inform the residents of the economic state of our city by presenting our financial picture to the Bryant Park Neighborhood Association. Michael Bornstein was invited to have a presentation and was asked to invite some of the commissioners to attend. On several occasions in the past, Scott Maxwell has told us that the city had 30 plus meetings on the Lake Worth 2020 roads improvement plan of which few of us were aware. This time the City wants to change its strategy and "get it right." Mr. Bornstein and Commissioner Amoroso had an interesting and informative meeting especially for all of those residents who are not familiar with our budget--how we make our money and how we spend it all.
City Manager, Mike Bornstein, led the Power Point presentation on the budget pointing out that we take more money ($9,138,387 or 30%) from our enterprise funds (electric, water and sewer) than we receive in ad-valorem taxes, ($6,315,694 or 21%) to operate our city. Enterprise revenue funds more than supplement our budget and without them we would cease to exist. On the one hand, this commission is continuing its electric rate reduction to bring our rate into parity with FPL in order to eventually appease businesses, now within a 6.7% difference in residential rates (commercial rates are no longer the highest in the State), which means even less money for operations. Then the city tells us that the only way it can operate is to transfer funds from that Utility. Water is up 5% and sewer rates by 8%. Commissioner Amoroso said that he was never for selling our electric utility, an option that was recently panned by the Electric Utility Advisory Board.
Out of the $30.324 million 2015 operating budget, the city projects that personnel services will take 41%, up one percent from last year even though the city has eliminated one position. Out of the total $30 mil operating budget, there is $20,914,270 in non-controllable costs or $68.97%. It was also mentioned that we have a shortage of personnel in some departments.
Answering a question on street maintenance, it was stated that we have $500,000 in the budget with $300,000 of that going towards street lights. According to the 2015 budget, Street Maintenance Actuals have been as follows:
FY 2009-2010: $1,027,719
FY 2010-2011: $ 850,688
FY 2011-2012: $ 523,186
FY 2012-2013: $ 550,145
FY 2013-2014: $ 511,016
So, the street maintenance budget has has gone down during this administration. Where has the difference been applied? Can you even imagine passing a budget by a 9.7% increase and not allotting more for road repairs particularly as the Commission just tried to grab $63.5 million in a general obligation bond for that very thing? Only McVoy and Amoroso voted Nay on the new budget.
Commissioners Scott Maxwell and John Szerdi were also present last night. Mr. Szerdi twice asked the attendees, "What do you think the city should do to finance fixing our roads?" And this is the new strategy for the city...let the folks know that we have very little left over after paying all the uncontrollable costs such as police protection, employee salaries, benefits and retirement. What then do we do to fix the potholes?

Charlie Crist likes Obama's failed agenda
A few weeks back President Obama said that while he was not on the ballot this year, his policies were. Charlie Crist wants to follow Obama's policies and that would be bad for the State of Florida.
President Obama declared, "The bottom line is...these are all folks who vote with me; they have supported my agenda in Congress...These are folks who are strong allies and supporters of me. I tell them -- I said, you do what you need to do to win."
There you have it. The Democrats running for Senate are "strong allies and supporters" of President Obama and his failed agenda — he’s given them the flexibility to do whatever they "need to do to win." But, at the end of the day, they’re nothing more than a rubber-stamp for the President’s policies…even the President thinks so.
The NRSC asks, are you as fed up as we are with politics as usual? And Charlie Crist changed his Party from Republican to Democrat and really believes that Obama's policies are right--He wants to be our governor, again!
One red Cent has its own two cents to contribute--
Explain why Solyndra was "right for the country"?
Why was Fast 'n Furious "right for the country"?
Why was it "right for the country" to nearly triple entitlement spending?
How is slashing defense spending "right for the country?"
How are those unintended consequences of the power-grabbing Obamacare legislation "right for the country"?
I don't think the folks around the Gulf of Mexico think the drilling moratorium was "right for the country."
What about our open borders and the migration from South America--and the 47 million people who live here on government assistance.
Be-headings in our own country? Our Marine, Andrew Tahmooress, in a Mexican jail because he got lost at the border? Why isn't he home?
Not leaving any ground troops in the Mid-East?
And we can't forget the worst debt in the history of America-- nearly 18 trillion dollars that we can't ever pay back.
We have slipped big-time in the world stage... no leadership.
What about, what about, what about?????
Governor Scott inherited a $3.6 billion dollar shortfall from Charlie Crist, and now Florida has a $1.2 billion surplus. Say "NO" to Charlie Crist so he can go back to working on his Florida tan..

Obama has lost his Mojo
With sagging popularity, the magic that President Obama once enjoyed at political rallies appears to have vanished into thin air, as a crowd of spectators walked out on the president during a speech for Democrats Sunday in Maryland. He even got a heckler.

The Palm Beach County School board race is non-partisan but on Saturday Fact Check Florida electioneering Committee just made it partisan when it sent out a flyer endorsing a Democrat for District 4, the only run-off for PB County School Board.
It has collected $226,075.00 to date and has expended $220,550.96. The committee was formed in July 2013 and registered in Jacksonville. In October 2013, it failed to file a Treasury Report. Consequently it was fined $650.00. Now it seems this Committee has failed to file again. Matthew Martz is the chairperson with a 561 area code telephone number.
Scratch mine and I will definitely scratch yours--Martz, who is also listed on LinkedIn as an account executive at Mad Dog Mail, has ties to Cesar Fernandez, Rick Kriseman’s campaign manager who ran for mayor of St. Petersburg and won by 55% of the vote. This committee backed him. Both men worked on the campaign last year for state Sen. Jeff Clemens. Democrat Jeff Clemens has given money to one of the run-off candidates for PB County School Board, also a Democrat, along with his OWN Pac's contribution of $2,000. Most of our present commisison has also donated to this Democratic candidate.
Clemens' PAC, along with Jeremy Ring (D-Margagte) Committee for a Prosperous Florida, has received tens of thousands of dollars from Florida companies that operate Internet gambling cafés and from the Malaysia-based Genting Group, a global giant in the casino industry.

“The very word ‘secrecy’ is repugnant in a free and open society… We
decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted
concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are
cited to justify it.”
~ John F. Kennedy, April 27, 1961
Thirty-eight national press organizations and transparency groups—including the Society for Professional Journalists, Investigative Reporters and Editors, and the Poynter Institute—called on the Obama administration to end 'politically driven suppression of news and information about federal agencies' in a letter to the White House that was released Tuesday, writes the Washington Free Beacon.
We see pervasive "secrecy" and government's control of the press at all levels. Obama told us that his government was going to be the most transparent. Joel Simon, executive director of the CPJ said “There is a systematic effort to marginalize and undermine the work of the press."
On a local level, there is nothing we can do about personal opinion and the political spin or a commission that just wants its way regardless of the opposition or the outcome of an initiative. All we can do is expose it and/or vote them out. There can be two of us observing and listening to the same commissioners and walk away with a totally different message as evident by the two local blogs that dabble and write about local politics.

Letter to the Editor - Dr. Steve Rosen speaks out
Comment Up
Our friend, Dr. Steve Rosen, wrote a letter to the Sun Sentinel editor. Although this election does not affect us here, following is his letter:
I would strongly advise voters in Florida's 34th Senate district to
support Maria Sachs for re-election over Ellyn Bogdanoff. In 2012, then
Sen. Bogdanoff, at the behest of a local dog groomer, added Amendment
303390 to an agriculture bill that lifted a 40-year ban on the
artificial coloring of animals.
The animals affected by this included chicks, ducks, rabbits, turtles as well as dogs whose owners colored their coats to win contests.
The coloring led to their sales as presents for small children who were not mature enough to handle them. As soon as the children lost interest, the animals were often taken to places like the Wildlife Care Center, or simply dumped outdoors to fend for themselves — which meant starvation or being eaten by predators. Often the animals were abused by small children and showed up at rescues with broken bones. Fortunately, we were able to reinstate this ban with the help of Maria Sachs.
This is the legacy of Ellyn Bogdanoff. If you believe her empty promises about prison reform, non-violent offenders and other talking points she spouts to win election, consider the words of the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer:
"Compassion towards animals is essentially bound up with goodness of character. Whoever is cruel to them cannot be good to men."

16 more days!
For the first time in our state's history, Amendment 1 will establish a dedicated funding source to acquire, manage, and restore our waterways and natural lands. Florida will have stable, long-term funding to secure our drinking water, clean up our springs, preserve our Everglades, provide habitat for wildlife, and solve the critical water problems that face our state. Amendment 1 will accomplish all of this without raising taxes.
