Millionaire Adventurer Who Was Supposed to Be on Missing Titanic Sub Backed Out After Seeing Troubling 'Risks'
This is such a tragic event. These adventurous people paid $250,000 to see the Titanic and went to their peril.A British millionaire who had initially signed up to join the sightseers who are now missing in the Atlantic Ocean, had a very uneasy feeling about the submarine and fatefully decided not to join the expedition and got a refund.
Chris Brown, 61, told the media, “I was one of the first people to sign up for this trip with OceanGate while the submersible was being developed,” the U.S. Sun reported.
But he added that he got an uneasy feeling about the project. He dropped out because he was concerned by the quality of technology and materials used by OceanGate Expeditions, the company offering deep-sea visits to the wreck of the Titanic.
Unfortunately for Brown’s friend, Hamish Harding, an adventurous billionaire who knew the risks, went ahead on the trip and is now dead.

Obama finally said something I agree with!
The only thing that is sad about this whole farce, is the young boy, who didn't want to go, and was forced to go by his idiot father.
To the rest of them I say: Better Luck Next Time!
If the father had survived, he should have been arrested for child endangerment.
Why is the news killing this? The average person isn't interested in this and doesn't even know it happened. If it weren't for a romantic movie, nobody would be interested in this sunken ship. What about the Lusitania? Anybody going to see that?
@3:17...there must be a lot of people interested as there have been at least 46 trips in the past.
@12:38...what did Obama say?
It was a statement he made in Greece, comparing the tragedy of the hundreds of drowned refugees trying to get to Greece, to the implosion of the sub.
It's a bit of a headline, so you will see it on-line.
I'm sure they have a cult following of the unrealistic who live on the internet.
If these people have so much money, why not do something worthwhile. What are they looking for? Atlantis?
This isn't exactly like Columbus you know.
There is so much to do on this planet, and these fools waste time and money on this crap. What they are really looking for is fame! Notoriety! Their place in the sun!
People who follow this have no concept of reality. They live in a Captain Marvel World.
This is why we are falling behind the rest of the developed world, and why we have to accuse everybody of human rights abuses, instead of talking about something important.
@4:17...People can follow this if they desire...they can spend their money any way that they choose.
They are adventurers and explorers. They may live in a different world reality than you do but it is their life.
And this has nothing to do with our country "falling behind the rest of the developed world" which is an untrue statement to begin with.
@4:02...I guess you really don't understand.
There is nothing to understand. Americans live in a fantasy world, and they are falling behind the developed world.
It doesn't matter to me, but to those who would like to buy houses or compete economically in this fractured country, it should matter a great deal.
Why would you want to defend this colossal failure? The only thing that didn't fail, was the imagination of the project.
@5:18...your opinion, anonymous.
You say it doesn't matter to you but obviously something is bothering you greatly about this. As said, people can spend their money any way that they choose legally.
If we didn't have imagination, perhaps this country never would have been explored.
I think it must be the rich that you have a problem with.
And I am not defending this failure. It is a horrible tragedy beyond words.
What matters to me, is the wall-to-wall coverage of such an unimportant event.
It's an indication of how unimaginative and stupid the news media is.
I'm a big fan of Terra Firma. Space and the bottom of the ocean don't engage my interest. What is it, 54 years since the moon landing? And then what? No wonder people think it was a hoax!
The Moon Landing was not a hoax.
Ironically, the news media is now blaming the public for the disproportionate coverage between the Greek Tragedy, and the Submarine failure.
Obama always says something to divide the country. If there were 5 Black guys who went to their demise, he and you all would not be so crass about the attention of this submarine
I can't see how this would divide the country. Maybe you should find out what's going on in the world.
