Florida Number 1 in Economic Performance

Rick Scott, Ron DeSantis should be proud: Florida ranked #1 economic performer between 2011-2021

• Florida is among the top 10 ranked states for economic performance and economic outlook, according to the Rich States, Poor States report from the American Legislative Exchange Council.

• Florida’s economic growth has improved from an average of 4% to 6% to almost 14% in 2021 despite a dip due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutdowns.

• Florida’s low tax burdens and worker-friendly policies have led to its top performance in domestic migration, state gross domestic product, and non-farm payroll employment.

• The economic performance rankings span a ten-year period beginning in 2011 and ending in 2021.

In economic outlook, New York was worst in the rankings, preceded by Vermont, Minnesota, New Jersey and Illinois.
