Lake Worth Beach holds prayer vigil for the victims of Colorado Springs
On Tuesday city leaders in Lake Worth Beach held a moment of silence and prayer vigil for the lives that were lost in the Colorado Springs shooting at a LGBT+ night club.Lake Worth Beach Mayor Betty Resch and Julie Seaver, executive director of Compass, gathered alongside members of the LGBTQ community outside of City Hall.
Julie Seaver, executive director of Compass, decided to interject politics and made a crack at Republicans by saying, "I feel safe at the local level but at the state level and across congress and in the house I am very concerned with the direction our minority population is facing."

The US has had at least 604 mass shootings so far in 2022 so Lake Worth prioritized the one they wanted to recognize.
