Vanilla Ice Transforming Historic Lake Worth Building into Museum, Brewery
Vanilla Ice is working to transform an historic building in downtown Lake Worth Beach into a pop-culture museum and brewery. The "Ice Ice Baby" rapper and host of the DIY Network's "The Vanilla Ice Project," who lives in Wellington, showed off his latest renovation project – gutting the 1922 Masonic building on Lake Avenue, near City Hall, and restoring the property to its 100-year-old splendor.
"We're gonna keep this place like the '20s so it's gonna feel like, you know, you're coming back in the '20s," Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, told his followers in a recent Facebook video that was posted on July 19.
This appears to be the building on Lake Avenue and H Street, across from City Hall. They will be able to take advantage of the new parking garage that has been built at The Bohemian. Another project in the CRA district.

now we will have a pot house and brewery around city hall.maybe commissioners will spend more time at city hall
The city commissioner should just do their jobs and bring the city to life not spend spend spend or give away actually bring some businesses it can generate revenue not apartments cuz the streets can't handle the traffic or condos what I want to know is how was the grid going to be able to keep up with the demand for power
I love seeing the comment about the new parking garage. It is about 4 blocks away from this building. I envision people parking in city hall parking lot instead.
Have you been to Monka's yet (old Bazaar Cafe). Right now, there is no alcohol served due to waiting for license, but the burgers and WINGS are fantastic. This place I would walk 4 blocks to get to.
The commission is working on low income housing. People who will pay low rents, buy subsidized houses, and probably get fuel assistance. Package that with food stamps and welfare checks, we will now have new Lake Worthless citizens.
Drive through Boynton, Delray, West Palm and see what they are building. Their cities are flourishing. Drive through Lake Worth, we will always be far behind the others, because misfits are sent here.
Lois Frankel is sending money to lake worth to help us get this affordable housing developed between Lake and Lucerne. Our gateway to downtown will be filled with low income, non working citizens.
I would never even consider going to Delray anymore. It's like a sardine can.
What type of affordable housing are we talking about? Does anyone know?
There are different types. It seems to me that if you don't make at least 40K a year, you can't afford to live period.
I don't understand why it should cost more than $800. a month for a 1-bedroom apartment, but actually, it costs about $1300. and up.
If landlords are going to rob people, then it stands to reason, that some other type of living arrangement has to be considered.
Wonder how long this will last? Lake Worth has a lot of crime, blight, and lawlessness for this to be a success.
